Just wondering if anybody owns a house backed up to a rec center and has any problem with noise or other issues? Thought I would ask.

Does that rec center have a family pool attached to it?

We backup to a Neighborhood pool, and we love it. When we have been down we here no noise, but then it is an adult pool. Also since it closes at dusk, it is so dark in our bedroom! We love it. That was one of the reasons we picked the CYV will did.
From the Rec Centers we have seen if it does not have a pool, they close at 10 so it should not be a problem.

Today TV is a busy place. Rec centers open early and close at 10:00 PM. Probably not a big issue unless you sleep late and hear the carts coming in at 7:00 AM. Or go to bed early and hear everyone leave. It's like backing up to a street, traffic seems to stop at 9:00 PM. However all of those things are todays rules. They can and will change in the future. Maybe for the better, maybe for the worst. And my guess is that as TV grows it will not get better as to traffic and noise and facility utilization. So why subject yourself to those risks? In todays market you can find a home that does not back to a street or a pool or a rec center. Why buy a home you plan to use for the rest of your life without making as little compromise as possible? Yes you may save a few thousand by doing that, but in the long term knowing things can change why do it? It is like someone buying a home next to a small airport and not thinking they may expand and have more flights in the future. Change will happen. Both good and bad, but it will happen, so as best as you can, plan for it. Remember the first 3 rules of buying real estate, location, location, location. I know it is a significantly over used phrase, but it is oh so true.

When I play Amberwood in the summer, sometimes it is quite noisy on holes 8 and 9 which abut to the family pool. Not something I would like to hear on a daily basis.

The Bonita Pool is 30 and up. I have never (as of yet!) heard any noise at all, anytime of day. I also peek over the wall time to time and there are people there. It just depends on the type of pool. No way would I want to be by a sports or family pool!

Our place is on a golf course and we wake up at 6 AM when the grass cutter shines his lights in our window.

Default pickelball noise

am kind of amazed no on has mentioned the pickleball noise. I love to play, but not to hear it at 7 am when I am trying to sleep in. We are at least 1/2 mile away from the nearest courts (which at least in the newer sections, are adjacent to the neighborhood rec centers, I believe, and also at the regional rec centers) and we can definitely hear the ping-ping-pings early in the am. Would be kind of annoying if we were very close, I would think.
