Question Metal Wall Hangings for Home Exterior

Many homes in The Villages have large metal wall hangings mounted on their home near the front door. Where are these wall hangings sold?

We too are looking for those and haven't had much luck in finding much of a selection.

If you want the "clips" that hold metal wall hangings outside on vinyl, go to Ace Hardware (big box stores do not have them). They have two sizes and clips work great. Good luck.

Amazon has some if you type in metal medallion or metal art. Also try Kirkland's on line for the same search.

Rustic Rose is where we got ours. However, the metal holders we have are not working out so well. :-(

Before hanging the metallic decorations, have you added a sealer to prevent rust?

There's a great shop with some beautiful ones in Spanish Springs, next top to the Mexican Cantina - not sure of the name of the store. I've also seen many that have come from Kirklands (on Rt 441)

Yes, this is a good idea and you can pick up the sealer at home depot/Lowes. it will make it last longer but you should reapply every year or two.

Our home had two metal wall hangings.....one large one on the large wall and one smaller one on the opposite smaller wall. Evidently the original owner of our home did not spray anything on the metal wall hangings to prevent rust. They have both rusted with the larger one really badly rusted.

The rusting is the reason I took them off the walls. I filled the holes and painted all the areas that were discolored by the metal and the walls look beautiful. I think I like the entry area better without the metal wall hangings. My front door entry area is a nice ample size but now, the area looks much more spacious. I was quite surprised what a difference no wall hangings make. I had decided not to replace the smaller wall hanging on the smaller wall and now I'm seriously considering not replacing the other metal wall hanging on the larger wall.

Just wondering how many of you have metal wall decor on the exterior of your home by your front door.

Can folks clarify if they are talking about a stucco home or vinyl siding. I assume each type of siding would require different types of hooks?
Thx.

We have a stucco home. There were holes drilled into the walls for the wall hangings. The large wall hanging had a plastic anchor in the hole for additional stability for the screw.
