Being in an all electric home if power goes out I have battery powered lantern, flashlight, radio and extra batteries to go with them. But I was thinking of getting a small camping stove to cook canned food and heat water for coffee. I'm wondering what others here do?

We have a small camping stove that we used in South FL during hurricanes but the power hasn't gone off here during a storm yet during ten years here.

I use my gas grill to cook on during power outages. Probably not as efficient as a camp stove, but I always have a full tank as a backup and I already have the grill. So, nothing to buy. I just put the pan on the grates and cook away.

full gas in all cars and get out of Dodge, without a/c--you can't live here in the summer

I just jump in my Phenom 300 and head to my other house in Beaver Creek, CO.

The lack of air conditioning would be intolerable. I owned during Irma, but I was up north. Neighbors here said power never went off.

If you decide to get a generator, get a window a/c unit for a small bedroom--make sure you have enough gas for 7 days

I think Id rather go away for a few days then get a generator.

It's good to have some bottled water and meal replacement bars with you in the car.
Gather your important papers because you may need to leave in a hurry.
I suggest a small packet of important papers containing drivers license, registration, insurance for your car and for your house, cash money, cheques, credit cards, passports, birth certificates, marriage certificates, etc, etc,
