Default Plans for Beaumont Property Reviewed

From the online news site:

"A plat received preliminary approval Tuesday for 405 homes on the Beaumont property across County Road 466A from Pinellas Plaza and next to Trailwinds Village.

"Homes will include 271 detached single-family dwellings and 134 townhouses on 154 acres. Construction of the first phase would be completed by the end of 2020.

"At a meeting of the Wildwood Planning and Zoning Board, Special Magistrate W. Grant Watson recommended the plat for City Commission approval. The commission likely will consider it later this month.

"Portions of the site along CR 466A and County Road 462 are slated for hotel, institutional or commercial development."

Plat attached.

Thanks, I saw that in the article. I was wondering who the home builders were going to be?

Here comes the kids. Not that I don't like kids but I like the peace and quiet realized without them. I also heard they are building a bunch of apartments on Powell north of 466A, not sure if that's true but I did hear it from a source that wishes to remain anonymous. Makes Fenney an even better place to be, at least for me.

Just imagine, you were living in Tamarind Grove, your beautiful pasture view has been replace with a LOwes, and the backside of a strip mall-we're very thankful we don't care about real estate value- but to our neighbors--very sorry for your loss--this kind of expansion doesn't benefit anyone

When your neighbors bought their houses next to an open area along 466a, they knew that area would be developed. Many of us are thrilled to see the new stores opening up.

This isn't a Villages expansion, this is private enterprise taking advantage of a very valuable piece of property. There is a large parcel of land for sale adjoining the village of McClure right on 501, it's not as large, I believe 40 acres, but from what I understand it's zoned commercial, I have no idea why TV just didn't pay the price and buy it when they bought everything else down here, I'll like it if they put a few retail businesses in there but the people who are building homes around it won't be happy.

If there's a vacant piece of land someone will buy it and build be it Houses, Apartments or Commercial. The Villages tried to buy this piece but Wildwood didn't like what TV had in the plans to build there.

As TV continues to grow and more commercial business's move in there will be a growing need for workers. TV is a 55 and over so it's not an option. As more outside developers build housing that isn't restricted it provides an avenue for attraction of workers. Part of the business plans (think all those stores you want here...Costco, Trader Joe's etc.) is the availability of labor. These developments can help that.
