Buy six apples and a package of refrigerated Pillbury already crusts.

Peel, core and slice apples. Add 3/4 cup sugar, a couple of tablespoons of flour and a sprinking cinnamon and nutmeg. If you don't have nutmeg it will still be yummy.

Spread the lower crust in your pie pan. (Let it sit out for ten fifteen minutes, it unrolls easier) Put the apple mixture in the pie and top with other crust and poke holes in the top with a fork.

Place in a preheated 375 degree oven and bake for 45 minutes. Bubbly stuff should be starting to come out of the holes you poked with fork. That is how you will know it is done and it will smell good too.

See if you can wait until it cools to eat it.

I like Gala apples. Some swear by Granny Smith or tart ones.

Merry Christmas.

P.S. Sometimes I will add a tablespoon of butter cut up before I put on the second crust.

I will never use store bought crust, it to easy to make from scratch, I like using the Granny Smith apples, I kick it up a notch by using melted unsalted butter and pure maple syrup with a few raisins. The rest of your recipe is spot on and sounds awesome. Don’t forget the ice cream.

Kerry, I salute you. Making crust from scratch. It is far less expensive. I always feel a little guilty buying ready made.

Good ideas about maple syrup and raisins.

I was hoping that folks would see that baking an apple pie is really not hard and so good to smell and it warms the kitchen on a coolish day like this one.

Merry Christmas Kerry.

I've never had a pie from Fresh Market, but between the other two places, I'd go with Publix.

Sam's Club has really good baked goods, even better than Walmart who really doesn't do too bad at all. The only problem with Sam's Club's cakes and pies are that they are GIGUNDOUS.

Thank you for this easy recipe. I printed it and will definitely bake an apple pie soon. Happy Holidays GG
