Default Big Traffic Accident at Buena Vista Blvd & 466

I was heading south on Buena Vista Blvd around 9:30 pm tonight when I got to 466 traffic light, there were a few fire trucks, a suv overturned on the road & a motorcycle lying on the road. Police had me do a U turn and head back to where I came from. Then I took El Camino to get back to Morse Blvd to get home. Wonder what happened. Maybe someone on 466 ran the traffic light and hit the suv. There was no doubt injuries! How sad!

Default Accident

A friend was there, too. He said he saw 2 vehicles upside down, 1 on it's side, plus another car - wrecked, but upright. It had to involve a red light runner.

Also, today, Friday, there was an accident apprarenty on Belvedere just east of Pimlico involving a golf cart. A man was lying in the middle of the street.

Drive carefully!

Default Bring on the traffic ameras. TV is an excellent place for

them. Get the red light runners and some who are way past the point of getting out from the wheel.

Default There's a photo with a short blurb in today's Villages Daily Sun.

5/15/2010's Villages Daily Sun has a photo of one of the vehicles in this accident and just says it is under investigation and that 5 people were taken to area hospitals.

Default True Location of Accident

The caption on the picture in the 5/15 issue of The Daily Sun identifies this accident as happening at Morse Blvd. and CR 466 - not at Buena Vista Blvd and CR 466. I wonder which is correct. Also the golf cart accident on Belvedere mention above was not a golf cart accident, according to The Daily Sun. It was a pedestrian struck by a vehicle on Belvedere.

...in today's Villages Daily Sun with a blurb and a photo. It is right next to the photo of the CR466 and Morse Blvd. accident.

I may be about to start a riot here. But, what's with Florida drivers? Recently traveled to Daytona Beach and Mt Dora, showed that no one uses turn signals and drivers constantly cut each other off (although that happens everywhere). It's just more unsafe when you don't use your signals. It's also scarey to me that Florida doesn't require annual inspections of autos, to ensure they're safe. I don't care if you want to travel in a wreck, but it's a hazard to everyone else on the road. There oughta be a law.

Sounds like Jersey drivers. Don't everyone get in an uproar. I spent my last 25 years there.

How many of these drivers do you think are really from Florida? I was raised in Florida and the best thing that we had back in the 60s was that rental cars had an E designation on their tags. We knew to stay away from them.

My suggestion is that for the first five years after someone moves to Florida and gets a Florida tag is that they get a special sticker so we know they are not from here and then no one can blame these idiot's driving skills on being from Florida!!!!

Sorry Z, but I spent 35 years in New Jersey and never even had a close call. After coming down here, in less than a year I've had numerous very close calls as well as someone actually hitting my car in a parking lot.

A high concentration of older drivers is probably a small part of the issue.
