Good topic for a thread Yoda. I always take a great deal of information away from Glenn Beck's show. He always provides a springboard for me to find information to study and learn more about different topics.
The Founders' Friday shows are remarkable. He should win an award for these Friday shows. I wish everyone would take the time to watch one show and judge for themselves. |

I watched the show and found many things very interesting. I'm very curious what we will discover tomorrow.
On today's episode of Crime Inc., I found especially troubling the potential conflict of interest between former Chicago boys John Pedesto, fourth White House Chief of Staff under former President Bill Clinton, president of the Center for American Progress and co-chairman of Obama's Transistion Project and his brother Tony Pedesto, who is co-owner with his brother of The Podesto Group in DC, the lobbyist for BP Oil. Tony is ranked as the third most influention lobbyist in DC, coupled with George Soros' ownership of the Petro-Bra(zil) oil company and Obama's promised investment of $2 billion of American taxpayer money to the venture. Now Obama stopped drilling off American shores helping Soros' Petro-Bra company. What the h@ll is going on there? Oh, did I mention John Pedesto authored the book, The Power of Progress: How America's Progressives Can (Once Again) Save Our Economy, Our Climate, and Our Country. And I loved when Beck produced the emails obtained through the Freedom of Information Act showing the White House asked the Center for American Progress Center for advise. May 3, White house should demand an escrow account to pay the Gulf residents. May 4, suggested Obama name a Commission to find the cause of the spill May 21 name sombody to be public point person for the spill. Guess who was named by the White House? John Podesto All with ties to George Soros who funded Pedesto's Center for American Progress think tank. Their moto is common good over narrow self interest. That's nice coming from the mouth of billionairres who are set to make billions more from Cap and Tax and the oil spill. |

At least one person watched. Some day this thing will blow up. Can these things really be going on? Is this what liberals want? I don't understand how they are getting away with it.

Yoda, after watching Glenn Beck yesterday, I thought I'd check on Media Matters for America's website today and see what they thought about Beck's show.
For anyone not familiar with the organization, let me start first by showing how Media Matters For America describes itself. (Just like newspapers have standard sections such as classified, editorial, obits, et al; Media Matters for America has standard sections on their website too. Some of their sections are "Only on Fox," "Right Wing Book Watch" and a "Limbaugh Wire.") I say this to show that they declare themselves the watchdog for Americans on "misinformation" in the US media. Many, many liberals on this site have used Media Matters as a source of information to show what they consider the conservative's distortion of the truth. From their site About Us: "Media Matters for America is a Web-based, not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) progressive research and information center dedicated to comprehensively monitoring, analyzing, and correcting conservative misinformation in the U.S. media. "Launched in May 2004, Media Matters for America put in place, for the first time, the means to systematically monitor a cross section of print, broadcast, cable, radio, and Internet media outlets for conservative misinformation — news or commentary that is not accurate, reliable, or credible and that forwards the conservative agenda — every day, in real time. "Using the website mediamatters.org as the principal vehicle for disseminating research and information, Media Matters posts rapid-response items as well as longer research and analytic reports documenting conservative misinformation throughout the media. Additionally, Media Matters works daily to notify activists, journalists, pundits, and the general public about instances of misinformation, providing them with the resources to rebut false claims and to take direct action against offending media institutions." I say all this to lead into saying what Media Matters for America found as misinformation about Beck's show yesterday. "Beck distorts Soros to accuse him of conspiring to 'replace the capitalist system,'" and "Beck admits he hasn't 'found anything illegal' about his latest 'Crime, Inc.' conspiracy theory." The second item was actually a statement Beck made on previous shows about Crime Inc. Before this new information was uncovered. You can read it for yourself, but basically their problem with yesterday's show was" "Soros said the international currency system -- not 'the capitalist system' -- is "broken and needs to be reconstituted." So the rest of the show's information is correct? If I missed something else on the website about Beck's show yesterday, please correct me. |

Quite frankly, I was busy with wedding plans and work-related stuff.
Care to post the gist of the program? And although infrequent, I *have* found a couple of times where I agree with Beck (like how he thought it was proper and necessary to read the Time Square Bomber his rights). |

I'm watching again tonight at 5 p.m. Yoda. Perplexing and disheartening that only one other person posted on here who apparently watched the program. It just confuses me how so many other can post political comments on this forum and others forums and news media outlets that I read and still never take an opportunity to discuss a perspective of current events as timely and important as this. I guess you and I are just more curious and truth seeking than most. You know what, I also love Your World with Neil Cavuto. He comes on an hour before Beck. His knack at combining dry humor and confronting people head-on at the same time are imformative and amusing to me. He really is underrated.

BK & Yoda,
We also watch but generally later (DVR the Program) and don't understand the apathy of the bulk of the population. The only encouraging thing is that his viewership is constantly increasing. I rarely post on the subjects because I don't feel that informed most of the time but I watch, listen and learn. Your posts rarely need to be commented on or dissected because they stand on their own, unlike comments and references by the far lefties which don't seem to want to be confused by the facts. Pesky little things always seem to get in the way of a good retort. We have attended several T.E.A. party rallies and were encouraged to see all those "violent, right-wing rascists, hate-mongering and running amok." Most of those we met had never involved themselves in anything like that before but felt they 'had to do something.' We also enjoy Neil, Bret, Shepard and O'reilly although am getting a little upset with Bill. Glen says that Bill is "this close to getting it. Just needs a little more time and a slight nudge." Lately, Bill just doesn't quite get it. (Why did he put Juan Williams on to guest host when he was off????) Geraldo lost my viewership when he drew the map in the sand when he was in Iraq. Totally irresponsible!! Only problem watching Glen is the frustration I feel about the general public's lack of interest and watching core values and a way of life going down the tubes. Reminds me of the quote "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." - Edmund Burke (1729-1797). I'm not sure what else we can do. Guess I will have to go drown my sorrows in a cold Mountain Dew. Oh well, 'nuff bloviating for now. BTW, if you want some good quotes, check out this link. http://www.cs.virginia.edu/~robins/quotes.html One more good quote from this site--"All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident." - Arthur Schopenhauer (1788-1860) |

We were duped...we elected a man who defies all..I MEAN ALL...the basic things that would have knocked out any other person thinking of running for ANY OFFICE, let alone President. He smokes and smoked publicly during the campaign. He drinks too much beer (THAT information came from his first physical as Pres when he was told to cut back)....he spent twenty years associating with and using a MENTOR and personal friend that preached hate and in the mildest terms would be called a radical (of course NOW, he does not even attend church)....he had NO..NONE...NO experience at anything in his entire life. ALL, ALL, ALL of his associates were what most would consider radical in there thinking. There was and is so much that should have sent out flares but the groundwork was done (see Soros, etc) Most men (and women) are a product of thier upbringing and their politics and personal life are formed by the relationships they form as they age. This man..well....do the math. Now, he is President.....and while he still has supporters...mostly party hacks and others in a minority, most folks including the press are becoming more and more embarassed by what happened in November. I cannot wait to read the exposes that will come out of this Presidency ! In any case, we need to switch this congress around in November, so he is FORCED to work with others and cannot steamroll us and simply lie and ignore things as he progresses. I know they are strong words, but I believed them when he ran for the nomination....I believed them when he was the candidate....and I believe them even more stronger now. |

I think Bill O'Reilly puts Juan on because Bill really is fair and balanced. I like Juan Williams. Although I don't agree with alot of what he says, I respect his views. He is not conservative, but he does make sense when he defends and presents his views. Even if I don't agree with it, I can see some of his points. (But let's face it Juan can't hold a candle to Charles Krauthammer.)
Bucco, I wish I had discovered this forum back when Obama was a candidate. I would have been in your corner supporting you and probably getting called all sorts of names too. Like you , I knew then something was wrong. Most, not all, but most of the people I know in real life don't like him either and didn't then. We do have to work to get as many of these people out of OUR government in November as we possible can...and we need to be thoughtful and careful about who we put in to replace them. They are not our representatives and don't have our country's best intentions at heart. The love of money is the root of all evil. Money equals power and that is what we are watching unfold before our eyes, a grab a money and power, and people taking our country down just to build it back into a different world. It is frightening. I believe we are seeing it first hand with this administration. |
