Default Weight loss, during Covid shutdown

Lost 20 lbs +, since the Covid lockdown--not eating out & not having my Wawa breakfast sandwich fix, on my way to my favorite sporting activity as me with 4 lbs of my weight when I met the Admiral

This is the only benefit of the lockdown

Don’t you means weight gain/loss from lack of exercise? I tend to eat the same, but lack calories burn. I rarely eat unhealthy out anyway. Luckily, for me I not going up or down so far. But I’m sure I’m have another month before my favorite sport.

I am experiencing the exact opposite, weight gain. Much less exercise, especially miss lap swimming. Getting much less exercise and burning less calories. Also, we usually eat fresh fruit and vegetables and lots of fresh fish. All that stuff requires frequent shopping and has a short shelf life. It seems like almost all foods with a long shelf life are either loaded with carbs or sodium. We are finding it hard to eat a healthy, low carb diet, without frequently going shopping and risking exposure.

Almost no change for me. I don’t eat out that much because I like home cooked food. (No one makes scallops like my hubby.) And as soon as I learned how things went down in the gyms in TV, as an ex gym rat I bought a few exercise equipment.

Just curious how do “things go down in the gyms in TV?” I belong to the TV gyms and at a loss as to what you’re referring to? Is there something I’m missing? I usually go to Laurel, Colony, Seabreeze and occasionally, Rohan.

Sorry, don’t mean to diss the local gyms. I do circuit training so can’t wait half an hour conversation to finish while on the equipment and not allowed to “work in” without making some people upset. Just one example.

Totally agree, love to do the circuit training, but hate to waste time waiting for a turn on the machines. I totally don't mind waiting for people who are actually working out. On the other hand, I can't stand waiting for people socializing on the machines in the Villages. And when I am up north at the YMCA, the problem is even worse, but different. Kids (anyone younger than 50 are considered kids for me) like to sit on the machines for ever, doing whatever it is they do with their cell phones. Cell phones should not be allowed in work out areas, period! I don't need to check texts, make phone calls, or have some kind of app tracking my work out. Just work out, sweat, shower, and go home.

Agree about cell phones in gym regardless of age. I must be a bit more assertive. When I’m ready to move to a particular machine and someone is socializing from it, I politely ask them if they’re finished. Sometimes they don’t even realize they’re holding things up. They always move on, usually with apology. Ya gotta nudge them. But that’s ok.

Eat small meals several times a day. Drink lots of water. Take several nice walks every day.

The reply about being a bit firmer in the gymn when someone is just sitting on a piece of equipment, using their cell phone. I agree a lot of them don't realize they are holding things up, will gladly move....
We left TV about 2 years ago and have the same problem in Ohio... Take a deep breath, smile and have a blessed day!

Tons of people are now out walking or biking daily. Join them. I had no idea there were as many bicycles in TV as there are. Up until the shutdown, most must have been gathering dust.
