Default The Villages Phase 1 openings for May 4 in todays Rec News

Most people have wondered what will be open beginning Monday, May 4 in the Villages. Todays Rec News insert in the Daily Sun lists what will be open in the recreation and parks amenities beginning May 4. It also lists the restrictions and recommendations for the use of those amenities. Too extensive for me to list here.

Its all too complicated. People will be confused and not follow.
Snowbirds can go home now - thats good - I can get a tee time at a reasonable hour

Can someone post a link to that Rec News issue? Or at least tell me if the Enrichment Academy and any club activities will resume in the clubhouses during the first phase? Thanks

Specifically states no club activities. I did not see any mention of the Enrichment Academy.

Not much of a change. There are those who will follow the guidelines and those who haven't been doing what they should have been will still do as they damn well please.

I find the info in the Recreation News very vague. I am not a rule breaker so I have questions such as are we allowed to meet with others in public places while keeping social distancing? If so does that start tomorrow or Monday?

I too found the wording of what will be opening at the Rec centers very vague. Does the article mean that clay & glass clubs can meet? Or not meet?

Organized clubs and academy classes are not going to open in phase 1.

Rec centers will be opened but no activities. Pools are the only thing opened in Phase I. Masks must be worn when not in pool. The rec center and pools will be closely monitored.

So everyone wanted to keep visitors away, yet only opened family pools. How are you going to keep kids at a distance

So someone takes off the mask, placing it on a surface, now contaminating that surface, or picking up contamination from that surface. Comes back and puts it back on for direct surface to face contact.

Wearing masks outside with social distancing is at best an overabundance of caution. Possibly worse worse than nothing at all since most people don't know how to use them correctly in any event.

I had registered for a class that was to be held in March but rescheduled for May 19 so I guess that opening is part of Phase II , which begins on May 4.

Below is a link to The District Weekly Bulletin from April 29. This has very definitive information on what will be open and what rules are for use. Don't see anything about requiring wearing face masks. The District.gov site has this information also. I would think that would be the best place for information.
Note: not all pools will be open. Only a select few neighborhood pools will be open. My take is that is because of size of pool area.

Is there anyone else that finds that as Stupid as I do? From what I’ve read, about the only additional activities are swim or walk laps in a pool-with a mask. And fish-with a mask, or walk on a park with a mask.

Don’t count on it. What do they have to go home too. Better off here , and they know it. Can’t blame them. Golf courses are closed where they come from. More than likely
