Default Pools and Rec Centers

With pools and rec centers opening, I would expect lots of people lining up for some fun. But with the limitations (1 hour in the pool) and severe occupancy restrictions, wouldn't it make sense for The Villages to stop issuing guest passes during this unusual time?
If they keep issuing guest passes, there will be extra outsiders coming here to visit relatives and use the pools. It'll be bad enough that we will have a hard time getting in some pool time for ourselves without competing with outsiders.
I really think that there should be a moratorium on issuing guest passes for now.

Have to be a resident to use a sports pool, no guests.

The bigger problem will be at the family pools. I believe they stated that residents will be referenced but that might be quite a task. Monday should prove to be a very confusing day at the pools, rec. center,s as well as restaurants. They'll get it figured out by the end of the week.

Not sure if you can get a guest pass now. I know guests cannot play golf.

Don't know if I can go back two months worth of post but I said then that the Villages should have Stop issuing "Guess Passes", it would of kept some away from coming here....

Well, the Admiral just returned from swimming laps @ a sports pool--seamless & very pleasant--& still remembered how to swim--no showers--toilets are the only amenity that's available--need a mask to enter the pool area prior to swimming

The pools are open for 12 to 13 hours per day. Since each person can be in for one hour, there should be no problem for people wanting to use a pool to find an hour when the pool is not crowded. Its obvious not everyone can go the same hour.

When I went for my daily walk today, I walked over to Truman family pool to see how things were going. At 12:30 I talked to the 2 checkers and they said they had a total of 6 people all day, so the pools don’t seem to be crowded. If there are no waiting lines and the capacity is not full I would imagine that u wouldn’t be asked to leave. There really would be no point in not letting the few who were there NOT enjoy the sunshine and fresh air. That’s just MY thoughts. I did not see any children.

Riverbend experience was great. They take your name and ID number and note your arrival time. If the pool is at capacity, they’ll ask those that have been there an hour to leave. Since there was only about 15 people there no one was asked to leave. Chairs are 6 ft apart and they are monitoring those in the pool to make sure they are social distancing. There were some children there so guest passes are being issued and I could see that being a problem. We had to wear a mask entering and leaving but not in the pool area. Looks like it’s going well for the first day.

Those that want a stop to guest passes - Have you contacted Recreation with your suggestion? What was their reply?

Let me get this straight.....while lying on a pool lounger or sitting in a chair, masks are not required. While walking in the pool or lounging in the water with a noodle, masks are not required? Is that correct?

Interesting that so few people used pools today.
