Default Rental Properties under phase three.

Are rental properties allowed under phase two to welcome renters?

Thank you for posting this as I will hopefully soon be looking for a rental. Wild guess six months in length but I do not want to come down until The Villages is open for all activities.

Just make sure your renters know they can’t play golf yet

A renter which the owner has transferred their amenities rights AKA $50 is not considered a guest. A renter with that temporary ID is considered a resident and is allowed all the amenity privileges of an owner. The renter should call and pay for a trail pass immediately in order to play golf riding a golf cart since no cash at present can be transacted at the executive starter shacks. I do not know about a phase three requirement for renting. Perhaps someone else that rents out their property can help here.

A renter with the proper ID is considered a resident. They can swim in the sports pools, golf executive courses and purchase a membership to MVP.

I believe owners have been renting out their units all through this shutdown, there were plenty of them advertised and we have met several people who came down in April and May to rent furnished homes just in our area. At one point around the end of April the governor stated that 15,000 individuals came into Florida from the NYC metro area I'm sure they don't all own homes here in Florida and there were most likely a bunch in May also.

Correct, rentals have not stopped. Why would they? We all have mortages to pay, and people would rather be in Florida since they have done a better job dealing with the virus than any other state.
We had one renter we moved to next year and promply rerented for June and July. Rented out as usual. Why not?

The state of Florida prohibited rentals from March until the last week of May. A friend who uses Villages Hometown Properties as her management company wasn’t allowed to let her March renters in. Even though they arrived, they were unable to get the keys and so had no choice but to go home. Those who rented their homes during the lockdown did so with disregard to rules. That ban was done to protect Floridians from people bringing the virus from other states.

WHY NOT???? Because it was ordered by the Governor to protect the residents of Florida from people coming here from hotspots and spreading the virus. It's no different than restaurants not being allowed to serve indoors during that same period, they had to follow the rules. What gave you the right to endanger the lives of those who might come in contact with your tenants? The reason we have done better down here is because 'MOST" of us are not selfish and followed the rules.

There was no prohibition against renting in place. If you had a rental you had no problem getting into the state. Renting doesn't necessarily spread the virus if everyone is social distancing. I did not endanger any more lives than you did. Your virtue signaling is showing. This is a free country, despite what some people think, and this virus is totally overblown.

Does your admonishment apply to snowbirds who OWN homes in The Villages. If so, are you serious?

Last I heard it is a free country. I hope and pray it remains so.

Despite the debate about the severity of COVID-19, you’re saying vacation rentals weren’t prohibited at one point?

A homeowner isn’t a renter.

I don’t have a dog in this fight, but I also thought rentals were prohibited at one point. Maybe I’m way off base

Yes, RENTALS were prohibited until recently but obviously if one OWNS a home they aren't renters: Gov. DeSantis opens door to return of vacation rentals in Florida
