Default Prep for Hurricane - prop damage & ....death...

in the event of serious storm damage to our home, vehicles, and home contents, and/or US, completed two important matters>

1. On a new Micro SD card, took 75 photos of the entire house outside, and contents. Will store card in our safe, and all photos on the cloud as well.

2. Both of our "I'm Dead, Now What" books completed. Extremely detailed info/data/etc regarding your life. A great tool for those caring for your matters when you pass, and also a remeberence.

Hopefully The Villages will be safe from bad storms this season and #1 won't be needed. As for #2, well....

Storing documents such as the pictures in the cloud is very good. I do get concerned with documents that would contain financial information with account numbers etc.

You shouldn't wait for hurricane season to be prepared.

And let's not overlook that it's smart to have sufficient cash on hand (in small bills) to purchase any materials that you might need to make some immediate repairs to any damage

We were in Ft Lauderdale when Wilma started out as a Cat 1 when it hit the west coast of FL but by the time it came across it was a Cat 5 and it knocked out all 24 substations in Broward County. None of the stores had any electricity, they could open, but they couldn't operate their cash registers or take credit cards...it was cash only for a number of days

hopefully today the utility companies have sufficient spare parts nearby and the stores even have power back up....but ya never know

In case you are both blown away into Lake Sumter as alligator food make sure you leave someone the LINK AND PASSWORD to your "I'm dead" cloud account. I learned that the hard way when my father passed.
