Default Covid-19 Deaths in The Villages

I am trying to find out how many Villagers we have lost from the virus to date.
All I remember is two from when the outbreak started and the total for Sumter County stands at 21.
Hopefully the number has not changed.

No way finding out if they lived in villages? Just says Sumter County? Only when article in newspaper of some deaths tells the village they lived in. I can remember 3? But, how many poor soles Don’t get article in news?

I don't know how many were Villagers, specifically but, the Villages is in the corners of three different counties - not just Sumter. Marion and Lake county have parts of the Villages in them as well.

In the three counties, a total of 88 people are dead now, from COVID-19. That's 88 people who have spread their virus to everyone they were in contact with, within 3 weeks of their deaths. That means - for three weeks before they were dead - they spread that virus to others. And then they died.

You can keep track of it here: Experience

It is more accurate and up to date than the one that comes directly from the state health department, because it includes data that the state health department has chosen not to publicize.

There is significant evidence that Florida DOH is "cooking the books". So, it is very difficult to know how many have actually died. Sadly, one side believes the books are being cooked to inflate the numbers, the other believes the numbers are being cooked to reduce the numbers.

However, the scientist that was hired to collect and disseminate the information was fired for "refusing to reduce the numbers", and they replaced her with someone else. Then magically we had fewer cases and fewer deaths.

The gov should stop paying for reported covid deaths then maybe there would be a more accurate account.

Not IN The Villages but a just out report on death rate from Covid-19.

More deadly than seasonal flu but not as deadly as Ebola but far more contagious than seasonal flu or Ebola. FAR MORE CONTAGIOUS.

I wont disagree with your statements, in general. But yesterday i had a conversation with a clerk in one of the stores here. Her brother, who has severe asthma, got covid and it looked like he wasnt going to survive. Fortunately, he pulled through. His wife tested positive but asymptotic. Their son tested negative. A false negative on the test? Perhaps. But maybe it isnt as contagious as they claim.

You basing that your comment that "maybe it isnt as contagious as they claim" because "only" 2 out of 3 family members got it? Sounds like 66 2/3% infection rate.

Or maybe the fact that only a bit more than 1% of the US population has the virus.

Perhaps its time for those that live in fear to stop watching the talking heads on TV.

Lake county has had the most deaths. It is the largest of the three counties and only a very small part of The Villages is in Lake County.

I don't recall where, but I've seen the number of cases and deaths for all three and The Villages. Most of the recent deaths have been in long term care facilities and the prison.

With a combined population of 865,000 it seems that the number of cases, 6787 and number of deaths, 88 is extremely low Especially given the average age of the people.

The number of cases is .7% (less that one percent) of the population and the number of deaths is almost immeasurable.

It seems to me that we are doing the right things.

Sad that the longer this goes on the less we seem to be able to trust the numbers they are giving us.

You would think that with all of our advanced technology, we could a better job of counting deaths in TV. If someone dies and their address is in TV, that would count as 1. Pretty simple.
