Question Curious Minds Want to Know

Was driving through horse country today and wondered why horses live on farms and not on ranches, like cattle and sheep.

Probably the same reason people park on driveways and drive on parkways.

Maybe it's a regional thing. In the East we tend to have farms. In the southwest the tendency may be more toward ranches. I also think thoroughbreds tend to come from farms and quarter horses come from ranches.
