This editorial from The Telegraph in England caught my attention, and I found myself coming back to it over and over and think I may agree with it.

The premise is that Obama may NOT want to be reelected President in 2012......."Few Americans consider themselves bigger than the presidency but Obama might be one of them." is how this article begins and it traverses through the total lack of any experience this man has. Remember that Obama never really stayed in one place...he has been always running for something and then running again for something else...."Governing has been altogether more difficult for him and there are signs he is already tiring of it."

I have always believes he wants to be some kind of high level conscience for the world...."For Obama, the crowning moment of his presidency have been speeches abroad - the statement in Strasbourg that America had been "dismissive and arrogant", the address to the Muslim world from Cairo, the acceptance in Oslo of the Nobel Peace Prize."

Interesting take on the man who is supposed to be leading our country !

I think Obama is going to ram through as much of his marixt agenda as possible. If he gets re-elected fine, but if he doesn't I don't think he cares. His goal is to transform the US into a completely different country. For the record he was not a law professor. He was a lecturer. The reason he didn't have a serious opponent in his 2004 senatorial run is because he was able to get his opponent's divorce records unsealed. He used the same tactic when he origianlly ran for state senate.

And in another article in the Boston Globe, there is some sarcasm (mentioning the fact that Obama has played more rounds of golf already that the previous president played in 8 years) and also his many vacations and last week his so called "fantasy camp" where he spent time playing basketball with some big names.

The writer does not take him to task directly for any of this...talks about how it is a tough job but he points out this President does not seem to enjoy anything....."Let’s face it, Mr. President, you’re not exactly a standout in the joie de vivre department. P.G. Wodehouse says of one of his characters, “He had the look of one who had drunk the cup of life, and found a dead beetle at the bottom.’’ With all due respect, that character sounds like you.

And in keeping with the thread, it mentions a few comments, some of which I was not aware where this president has commented on the presidency...

"For a guy who spent several years and hundreds of millions of dollars single-mindedly running for the presidency, you don’t appear to take much pleasure in the job. You’ve described being president as “mopping the floor’’ and “cleaning up the mess.’’ You tell audiences how “confining’’ and “frustrating’’ it is, and how “nothing beats a day where I can make an escape, I break out.’’ You complain about how difficult your challenges are. “I’ll be honest with you,’’ you lamented to Time magazine in an interview about the Middle East. “This is just really hard.’’

And it is a tough job...especially when you have NEVER EVER IN YOUR LIFE BEEN IN CHARGE OF ANYTHING !

I do believe this president feels "put upon" and above everyone else. The writer mentions both Clinton and Reagan and how they just enjoyed this country and its people no matter the job, no matter the problems..they were true leaders.

And he ends this article written as a letter to the president...

"By contrast, you come across too often as irritable and self-pitying. It’s not attractive, and it’s not winning you the admiration of the American people. Lighten up, Mr. President. You’ve got the job of a lifetime. Enjoy
it."

If I was a betting man, I would bet that Obama is not even going to run for a second term. He will try to ram through as much as he can until the new Congress gets sworn in and he becomes a lame duck. How else can you explain the politically naive or stupid moves he has taken lately ? No politician in preservation mode would have his wife take an expensive vacation to a foreign country while the country is in a recession or constantly go against the will of 70% of American on countless issues. He doesn't care what anyone thinks and speaks from his heart and mind on the issues he speaks about.The people of the US need to really listen because he is showing everyone who he truly is.

To be honest, I'm looking forward to hearing what 'the man on the street' thinks of Obama and the United States when my wife and I visit England, France and Ireland in a few weeks.

I am so sick of hearing what other countries think of us. I could give a sh$$. For 8 years the left lamented about that. America has paid it's dues many times over!!!!

To hear that other countries do not like America is sickening for two reasons.

One is we should not care as long as we like our Country.

And two if they don't like America why do they all want to visit here and live here or ask us to always protect them?

Pats: It helps to know what others, friends AND enemies think of you. It's an old saying that "no man is an island" and that's never been more true than today, as interconnected as we all are.

Consider this - if we had done things a little differently in the 50s and 60s and, say, not been a slave to oil and therefore hadn't pumped all that money to terrorists, do you think the skyline of New York would look differently today?

Knowing what others think of us is the first step in figuring out where our future enemies are going to be coming from - and VITAL in determining what to do about it.

And why should I care? Because I believe it's my patriotic duty, as an American citizen, that if someone is believing lies about us, to at least offer them the truth.

So, now you are blaming ourselves for 19 terrorists starting war against us??
We have spies and diplomatic corps to figure those things out. I could give a fig what some citizen of another country thinks of the USA. If it is good, fine. If it isn't, so what?

This thread WAS about the President of the United States and the attitude he brings to performing his job.

If you want to hijack it and discuss if USA was responsible for bombing the WTC be my guest ....I just thought I would remind you of what the thread was about.

As far as the hijack.....there is NO EXCUSE known to mankind for any kind of violence like that and that kind of killing done in the name, not of war, but of hate...dont care what you say.....If our armed forces are responsible for the beginning of it, then hang on...we are killing folks like crazy in Afghan....we are totally ignoring deaths done wrongly in other countries so guess we DESERVE another bombing here !

And now these same Countries are having a more positive view of U.S.

Many countries seen the liberation of Sadam Hussein's Iraq and his brutal regime as an admiral accomplishment. And many of it's citizen's with their purple thumbs agree.

I'm afraid America's standing in the world took a nose-dive with the First Apologist bowing to every Muslim leader he encountered.
Hopefully the world will have more respect and admiration for the USA when a new President takes the oath in January, 2012.

Obama's failed stimulus program cost more then the entire Iraq War.
