Daytona Beach probably the closest. Siesta Key (Sarasota) one-off the best in Florida.

There are very few decent beaches within less than a two hour drive. Clearwater Beach was selected as the best beach in Florida on several occasions and last year was selected as the best beach in The United States. After trying several beaches over the years, we always head to Clearwater.

We enjoy Playalinda Beach on the Cape Canaveral National Seashore. It’s about a two hour ride.

I HIGHLY recommend visiting Casey key beach in Nokomis. You can find fossilized shark teeth on the shore and it’s usually not crowded. We go there every summer

Fort Island beach is about an hour fifteen from our place in TV. Fred Howard beach is in Tarpon Springs about an hour forty's-five. We prefer the gulf beaches but like New Smyrna when we go east. We also like Siesta Key and Clearwater, but a favorite is Anna Maria Island beach through Sarasota, lots of parking and a good concession area.

Thumbs up

While we're not really beach people and is the reason we've chosen TV to live (eventually), it's nice to know that should the ocean bug bite, it's a relatively short drive to see the Atlantic OR the Gulf. Just another great choice afforded to those living in TV.
