That is what we have been doing for 7 years. However, be very careful with candles, they melt.....

Hmmm, if we stored our Christmas tree until next December all the needles would have fallen off. For us it is a real tree or no tree at all, just personal preference I guess?

When buying home, a closet large enough for decorated tree was a must, slide in, slide out, done, phewww! It's exhausting, lol.

I have a cottage home and there is not enough attic space for my 7-1/2 foot tree. Even if there was I don't know that I could get it up there as it's pretty heavy. I store it in the guest room closet which is not ideal when we have house guests.

Place the decorations at the end of your driveway. Will be picked up and hopefully returned next Xmas. If not buy new ones.

It may be OK, but the temps in the attic get well above 100 in the summer.

We store ours in the garage in its shipping box. Too cumbersome to put in the attic

How tall is your decorated tree? I don't have any closets in my house that would fit a decorated tree.

I have two sturdy large Rubbermaid garbage pails, that I use to store the bottom of the tree in one and the middle section and the top section of the tree in the other. The collapsed stand also fits. I keep these two pails in the garage. I would never be able to get this tree in the attic as it is too bulky and too heavy. Our brand new tree purchased at the beginning of this Christmas season is unlit so it is really easy to scrunch it to fit in the garbage pails. In fact, before I thru away the original box it came in, I did a very quick assembly of the tree then broke it down to see if it fit in the two garbage pails. Piece of cake!

First year we moved here, we stored our lovely 6.5' White Xmas Tree in the attic, in a nice storage bag we purchased.
The next year when we brought it down from the attic, we had a lovely Brown Xmas Tree, with very brittle lights and light cord.
Lesson learned. We store our new tree in its original box in the closed in the spare bedroom.

We store our one foot high ceramic Christmas tree that my mother made us in a plastic container in the attic. Personal preference, I guess? Don't you just love "virtue signaling"? When we lived up north we always bought a small live Christmas tree in a pot and then planted it somewhere on our five acres after Christmas. Did that make us superior to those that bought beautiful trees that had to be cut down and then were trashed on December 26th? I don't think so. Wouldn't the world be a boring place if we were all of the same opinion?

We just put in the majic stairs attic steps. Worth the investment(i hope) easy to access attic. No climbing ladders. We would eventually like to put the lift in also. This way you don't have to carry anything. We will do that with our holiday stuff. Hope the investment is worth it!
