Default Traveling north for Thanksgiving

Retired Judge / 75 years old:

New Dodge RAM V8 truck uses a lot of gas. However, in PA I have a four cylinder sports car. Looking to ride with someone going to central PA, Hagerstown area or the Moose Lodge in Berkeley Springs WV for the Thaksgiving holiday. Flying doesn't solve the problem, as I then the truck at the airport some 90 miles away upon return. Will share expenses and driving. I reside in nearby Citrus County. Would prefer to leave 11-22 or 11-23, however, flexible schedule.

Why not get someone to drop you off at the airport in both directions. There are a lot of services available that will do that for you.

You do not say if your goal is to leave the truck in Pennsylvania or driving is round trip.
As far as gas, you can rent a car for shockingly little money. The difference in cost of fuel would probably cover the cost to rent a car. There is also the auto train.
Assuming it is a pick up truck. Putting a hard cover over the bed will reduce the drag and improve gas mileage. Removing the tail gate will also improve gas mileage. Depending on the engine and gearing different cars will get best gas mileage at different highway speeds, the dealer of the company should be able to guide you. I think the drive is like 24 hours at stated age of 75, you will have one more thing to be thankful for that you can still walk when you arrive.
