Uhhhhh........hmmmmm.......errrrrrr.......ahhhhhh. ...
![]() Kinda like the Timex watch thing - it's more expensive and not worth the bother to replace the batteries and/or the band when they give out. Just go buy a new watch! Bill |

Have you looked at ink jet printers lately? Walmart sells a Canon printer/scanner that comes with paper and $40 worth of ink for just $32. I just can't bring myself to throwing out a brand new printer to save $8 on ink but I'll bet there are plenty in land fills.

I went to wal-mart to buy rechargeable batteries for my solar lights that border my sidewalk to the lake. The six batteries were more than a new set of six lights with batteries (12) included.

Had the same dilemma! Went and bought the new batteries at CVS when they were BOGO Free.

it's not easy being green! Our society really has become a disposable one. I try and try and TRY to be a responsible consumer but it does not always (or even usually!) jive with my penny pinching ways!

Yep. Didn't think the ink lasted very long, and it leaked a bit. Won't do it again.

Good to know Bill-N-Brillo and Pturner. Next time I shop for a printer, it will be a laser!

Sames goes for watches, especially if I like the watch. And I like to coordinate my watch with my outfits, which is why I have 15+ watches. I've probably spent more on batteries than I would if I'd bought a realy, really, expensive watch, but I just can't see throwing them away.

I needed to buy some 12/3 romex cable. Went to Lowe's to buy 100'. It was $89. In the next bin was 250' of 12/3 Romex cable for $103. I now have an extra 150' in my workshop.
I had one of those bazillion watt rechargeable spotlights. It cost about $49 new. When the two 6 volt batteries would no longer hold a charge, I sought to purchase two replacements. They were $26 each. No more light. |
