Is this an example of Orwellian doublespeak? " landowner election results"

Nope, just the weirdness that can happen with community development districts. The full article does include results where there was more than one landowner.

As the Developer owes all of the land in these three commercial CDDs, the Developer appoints his people to the boards. I don't believe any election took place.

How the Developer decides who to place on these boards is his business. But to call it an election is still in my opinion "doublespeak".

However, some people might say he elected to place so and so to the board.

It depends. When a CDD is first established, the Developer appoints people to the CDD boards. For a residential CDD, as houses or land are sold then positions/seats on the board are replaced by elected officials at a set pace. Same is true for a utility dependent or fire district in that positions are filled by elected people over time. It's a set in stone replacement process.

As the developer has not sold any land in the three commercial CDDs in the Villages, he is the one who will always appoint people to positions/seats on these three CDDs boards. Would you call that an election. If so, I would say it's doublespeak.

Instead of doubling down on your insistence that there was no election.. why don't you click on the article and read the WHOLE thing. You will see as was already pointed out that not only are the names of people selected by our lord and liege listed but 2 competitive election results are also shown...

Quote:
Amenity Authority Committee – Lady Lake/Lake County
Sanda Mott – 77 votes
Edward Regan – 56 votes

Amenity Authority Committee – District 2
Richard Benson – 159
Jim Cipollone – 52
Ann Forrester – 104
Sure looks like a landowner election at least in part.

And the part of it that is listed in post #1, not including the More .. is doublespeak.

I should have been more specific in my first post.
