Looking for referrals from people who have boarded their cats while on vacation- I’ll be away for about 10 days this summer. Thanks.

get a petsitter, your feline will be much happier. you can't really be sure your boarded cat won't be housed above a noisy dog, or in a cattery with toms who have a territory issue. get the sitter to come by once a day to feed, scoop & sweep, & have some bonding time if your kitty is so inclined. it's cheaper & you will have peace of mind knowing kitty is safe @ home.

A shelter/boarding home is going to stress them out. They’re not so much like dogs. |

This is what we have done for our cat. The sitter came two times a day. We have automatic litter box that lasts 2 weeks without scooping or changing. The sitter even sits and talks with her, we know the sitter does great because the cat runs to her when she comes

We use Trusted House Sitter. Find Pet Sitters & House Sits Worldwide | TrustedHousesitters.com
They do both house sitting and pet sitting. We went on a cruse for 4 weeks. A couple we picked, moved into the house and took care of the dog and cat. They took great care of the pets and sent pictures to us. The house was spotless when we returned. The people who do this are vetted, have background checks and list references. Best of all it's free. You join the for a few $$ and your post the dates you need a sitter. The web sites sends you the names and information on the people interested in sitting for your pets. If you don't like any of the first group, you can request more names. Look at their pictures, review the past sits, review the references and make your pick. We had people from Mexico City, Sydney Australia, Canada, Arizona, Ocala, Miami and several more I can't remember. It may not be for you, but take a look at the web page.

I have a pet sitting company. We are insured and bonded. We can come to your house once a day and take care of your kitty. If you live in The Villages, north of Hwy 44, give me a call and I can set you up with one of the sitters in my group.

Have you considered having a pet sitter come in twice a day to feed your cat and clean the litter? I have done that for neighbors and they preferred to putting their fluffy friend in a kennel

There are plenty of pet sitters who will go to your house. Better for the animal. Rover.com is a good place to start.

Boarding a cat can lead to medical problems..... I agree with the others, get a cat sitter. Your cat will be much happier home in its own environment.

I don't know about you but I personally don't want strangers in my house when I'm not there, vetted or not, so Kitty Camp is another option. |
