Default Did anyone else notice the haze in the Spanish Springs area?

On our way back from a delightful Valentine's Day lunch (unsweetened ice tea the only beverage), we noticed a strange smoky/hazy cloud cover. There was plenty of blue sky behind us, but smoke ahead. Did anyone else notice it and does anyone know the source?

Yeah, we saw it too. Can't say what it was though, or the source.

Default Prescribed Fires

I'm a retired wildland fire manager. This is the perfect time of year and weather for conducting prescribed fires in the South. Both the National Forests and State Forests use these "controlled burns" for various land management reasons. No matter the objective of the fire, the reduction in fuels is a big help in controlling wildfires should one occur in the area later on.
I come from the western states where controlled burning is mostly done in the Spring and Fall, but I have worked on details in Florida in both controlled burning and fighting wildfires in the summer.
The smoke from the prescribed fires may be a bit annoying, but the benefits are substantial.

but not worried enough.

I noticed the yellowish cloud to the north of me as I was riding in my golf cart towards Miona Rec Center. I figured it was a burn somewhere. Gotta do what you gotta do. Better a controlled burn than an uncontrolled burn.

I spend summers in Upstate NY (Finger Lakes Area) and we had some days, last summer, from the Quebec fires that were nauseating. Yep, gotta do what you gotta do.

It might just have been the annual pot club chillout convention.
With all the pollution in the world a little haze over Spanish Spring is the least you should worry about.

"Burns" have been part of the earth's evolution, since the beginning. They're not new, nor are they pollution.

The Environmentalism as a Religion folks, seem oblivious to the fact that a huge percentage of what they view as pollution, has existed since the beginning of time and have helped make the earth what it is today.

It's unfortunate that uncontrolled burns aren't as practical today, as they were a few centuries ago, but that's the world we live in and part of the earth's evolutionary cycle we've chosen to interfere with.

The earth and civilization didn't begin the day today's Environmentalists arrived, it was around for centuries and doing just fine, without the nonsense and blather we have to hear every day from the revisionists.

Doing just fine until 8 billion people did whatever they wanted to screw it up. The solution is not dilution.

I wouldn’t worry about it, we can’t do anything about it anyhow!

Don't worry about it. The earth is "self healing". Think about the volcanos that spew sulfuric gases, acids and ammonia into our atmosphere ......untold tons of it. And this has been going on since creation. Guess what? We're still here and there's still a lot of fresh air to inhale.

Maybe if you had spiked tea the haze would have cleared up? . When I have brain fog nice spiced tea clears it right up. I see it works on lots of villagers from 5 to 9

IMO it may have been worse before humans bulldozed the earth?

Controlled burning was being done and the wind carried the smoke.
