What is the best place to post a short tempo job for a strong high schooler. Good pay, but only for 4 hours.
Next-door nor ToTV seems to have a section for this sort of thing. Not worth paying for a classified ad. |

Call the High School.
Some schools have a YES program. Youth Employment Service. |

If you're going to be paying him to do a job, especially as your post seems to indicate that what he'd be doing is pretty physical, I'd be worried about your own liability. Florida seems to be a pretty sue-happy state.

I agree. I wouldn't hire a high school student to do anything.

I clearly remember when high schoolers wanted a job like that to pick up some extra money. I haven't ever seen any kids that age doing odd jobs or things like weeding or trimming bushes...in the eighteen years we've lived here.
BUT......... A very skilled Hispanic man brought his grandson to replant the bushes displaced from our pool being dug. I was so impressed with the both of them. Hard workers, skilled at gardening and brought their lunches to save money and so personable. I would have voted for either one of them for President. Whoops. I think that might be political. Anyway. Times have changed. Work is hot and sweaty and itchy and disagreeable nowadays and not sought after. Plus mom is there with the money for whatever.

I’ll hire any responsible and hard working kid that will pull the weeds from our flower beds.

If you are looking to hire a STRONG high school student to, for instance, help you move, you better be aware that you are subject to workers compensation laws. If the high schooler, who would ordinarily be skilled in that task were to slip a disk, you might be out many thousands of dollars. Normally, high school placement is for retail or office work, not physical labor.

Many HS kids want jobs and are available to do anything. Because you only associate and know the lazy ones, doesn’t mean they’re all like that.
