So, Aldi conversions already started will be completed, all others will return to the investment group? In other words, Aldi bought everything, got what they wanted for their best interests, then returned the rest for sale to the group of investors. I wonder who got the better end of this deal.

Aldi had a great plan. Convert the Winn Dixie’s that had no Aldi close to them and then sell the ones remaining back to what amounts to Winn Dixie.

So, WD in Pinnelas Plaza will remain a WD? Hopefully it will. That does change things in The Villages considering we were expecting all Winn Dixies to go away.

I was hoping Winn Dixies would improve under Aldi ownership. Nope.

So I guess they won't improve in the future either ?

There is a Aldi across the street from pinnelas plaza so it was to remain a grocery

I'm not a big fan of either Aldi or Winn Dixie.
When it comes to food with people getting fatally ill and there being constant recalls.
If I'm going to die, I would like to die with at least brand name I've heard of.
This is just business; people are not considered when it comes to the bottom line.

You obviously are a Boars Head fan. They had the last big outbreak/recall. Boar'''s Head listeria outbreak was due to poor sanitation, USDA report finds | FOX 5 Atlanta

I was kinda interested to see how the new floor plan for the LSL Wynn-Dixie/Aldi conversion was going to work out. I hope they still do the conversion even if it stays a W-D. What I saw in the site plan looked interesting.

My wife is a fan of Aldi for a number of items. I like Winn Dixie's deli because the meats don't get slimy right away like others we've tried. The prices are better at Walmart, and Publix is only a deal when they have BOGOs. I wish we had a Kroger here and not just the home delivery trucks.

That’s great news. SouthEastern Grocers will continue to provide the house brand foods at a great price. They are often excellent. I shop at WinnDixie. Aldi products, meanwhile, in some cases are getting very low ratings from Consumer Reports. I don’t go there. Once was enough. But I’m sorry that the WinnDixie at Lake Sumter Landing will be an Aldi. That was my favorite one.

Just a friendly reminder to some visitors here: Those white stripes on the pavement leading into and out of the Pinellas Plaza WD designate a pedestrian crosswalk.
