Need new hearing aids...After researching old threads have come up w/two possibilities that seem to have impressed some of the posters here:
UHC Hearing (Sarah Montero, Aud.D.) Lake Hearing Services (?), (Paige Anderson Hold, Aud.D.) Looking for all the eggs in one basket: testing, ordering and follow-up all at the same place. Any input pro or con will be appreciated. |

What insurance do you have, I have AARP UHC medigap and it has a "discount" for hearing aids through HEAR USA. Have also used Sarah Montero as Hear USA does not clean the ears. My point, check with your carrier to if you have any coverage and with whom, then you can check here if you have multiple options.

Also, if you will be using a phone app to control the hearing aids, LOOK AT THE REVIEWS, the brand I are setup as HEADPHONES and have very limited controls to the point I deleted the app it interfered with normal operation of the phone.

Second Costco, my dad lost one twice and both times Costco replaced for free.

Thanx for the input.
I too thought of Costco: I've never read anything bad about their hearing services. However UHC won't budge on that: Costco isn't in their "Provider network". I pointed out to them that If I went anywhere else BUT to Costco I'd undoubtedly be spending the entire $2,500 plus a big chunk of my own change. If I went to Costco however, the two models that they sell (Philips and Jabra) start at $1,599 including charger. Of course there would be upgrade possibilities but in all likelihood I'd be saving the insurance company something like $500 or so. Didn't seem to matter. I am thinking about appealing that. |

Our family member has these. There is a co-pay each time they go to the office to have the aides checked (fees vary if the appt is with the audiologist or a tech) and an even bigger fee if the aides have to be sent out for service, once they are out of warranty.

Another vote for Costco. I've been using them for my hearing aids & services for many years now, with nothing but great results. Costco charges a fraction of what you would pay at a private audiologist office, and if you have insurance that covers the aids your out of pocket cost could very well be zero. Plus, the hearing exams from Costco (free) have been the most comprehensive and detailed I have gotten. Pretty hard to go wrong.

I have used Greg Freeman from the Villages Health at Colony center. He is the best in my opinion. Does testing, ordering, maintenance over the life of the devices and is pleasant to work with.

You can't miss with Mid-Florida Hearing in Deaton Plaza. Family owned and have been in business over 40 years. Ask for Zack. I have Phonak hearing aids and there is no fee for maintenance check, cleaning, etc.
