Default Interesting poll numbers on new Republican

Governors in Florida, Wisconsin and Ohio. Scott, Walker and Kasich all are polling very badly. By a wide margin voters in all three states disapprove of their job performance. Thoughts?

This is unfortunately a typical liberal idea of action. Wet your finger, stick it up in the air and see which way the wind is blowing. Adjust your policies on the way the wind is blowing and totally ignore principles and what is needed for the good of the country. Just run a 'beauty' contest. Being popular is essential to a liberal, being responsible is not.

on this board after the election about how popular the Republicans are, and how they would win easily in 2012 was just Republicans acting like liberals?

Default People who do what is supposed to be done to run a business,

club, political position that take steps that will in fact get the result they were hired/voted for rarely ever win popularity contests.

These people are results oriented, take charge, set direction and meet their commitment. They use that totally absent quality in politics....they make risk involved decisions....they do not need to be popular!!

We'll see how it all pans out in the next election cycle. All the governors mentioned were elected because most people understood that government had to trimmed down and costs cut to enable their states to get back to some sort of responsible spending.

It seems some people only think that programs that matter to other people are the programs that need to be trimmed and not the programs they themselves favor.

The first step in educating the electorate was fairly successful, in that legislators who preached conservative fiscal agendas were elected, by and large. Now the next faze of the education is being enacted, and that is impact of the reality of government going on this much needed diet.

Once the results become evident, if allowed to progress in the face of a hostile mainstream media and and the howling union and socialist activists, the people will see their house coming into order. They should then have their original convictions on their hopes for the future reinvigorated with the positive economic effects of a smaller government and be less likely to be swayed by the socialist "bomb throwers".

Default The government just simply needs to do what we all

do everyday/week/month/year....live within the means of your check book.
You see the difference? In "our" check book the money is ours and reality plus the banks and the government won't let you borrow how ever much you want anytime you want no matter how much you owe or have or have not paid back.

The government however....none of the money is theirs...there is no law against spending more than than have....the foreign banks are happy to lend as much as the hole we dig is deep to own part of America...and when all gets said and done the government has an option we would all love to have....print more money.

Nothing new....business as usual in Washington.....always has been and no doubt will NEVER change....ask Obama!
