I fear we may not get a Republican worthy of the Office. Romney would be my pick of those running. Christi would be the best of those not in the hunt. We are being insulted by nuts like Perry and Backmann. GOD (in my opinion) hears silent prayers before loud mouths that take on GODS authority themselves. Put your faith in GOD and not some nut that acts like they are God's enforcer. I don't think anyone living today can sentence or pardon anyone to/from hell. That will be decided by a higher authority than a GOP candidate. The Republican Party is being torn apart by religious fanatics in my opinion. I do not want a politician translating my bible for me.
If Christi steps up, he has my vote and every democrat in the neighborhood that I can convince to vote for him. Perhaps a petition from 40 to 50 thousand Village residents asking Christi to Step up to the plate would put him on the ballet. |

Except Romney too as his religious side. Mormon. There is a faction who also see this as an issue. Personally I believe a person's faith should not be an issue, unless he would be a Muslim.
We always hear from the left about this "separation" issue, yet not one word regarding the constant Muslim celebrations from this president. Recently another Ramadan dinner in the White House. |

Now how much grief did the press/White house give Gov Rick Perry for his prayer breakfast. Doesn't get much more hypocritical than this.

There was a time when being a Catholic was an issue in running for the Presidency. Time changes a lot.

I prefer to judge presidential candidates based on their ethical and moral behavior primarily because we have all been witness to the hypocritical clergy and pillars of a community. Rick Perry seems to be both a religious person but one who behaves ehtically and responsibile. the same applies to rommney, christi and rubio

I have no problem with candidates who are devout in their religion, as long as we're talking Judeo-Christian. Our Constitution was based on Judeo-Christian doctrine and so it a nice natural transition. I can't say the same thing about devout Muslims for obvious reasons.
I am patiently waiting for Gov. Perry to jump in the race and see how he does with his message. I just hope he hasn't waited too long to get out his message as Fred Thompson did in the last cycle. |

It makes me nervous to agree with Richie, but I am on board with this one. |

In any event, the strategist wrote off Perry with these words,"...Fred Thompson with hair." I think Perry will appeal to the Christian conservatives, although he'll have to split that vote with Michelle Bachmann. But in total, they're not a big enough segment of the GOP base to pull off the nomination...in my opinion anyway. I understand he's raising some money from Texas donors, but not too much beyond that. In the end, it's that old story...follow the money! |
