Default Funnel Cloud over Buttonwood

Hubby captured this shot last night, while walking our dog. Think it was a quicker walk home, than the walk up the street

OUCH. The tunnel cloud looks serious. I know we live close to each other. I haven't heard anything from neighbors so I assume the funnel fizzled.

That's quite a shot, yet one I'd rather not be in a position to take.

Beware Dan. If that tornado takes down my house, yours is going with me. We only live three houses apart.

Something I'll never forget was when I was growing up in St. Petersburg in the 60's one afternoon I was looking out at Tampa Bay and counted 7 funnel clouds at one time.

A few years later in the 70's when I was working in the control tower at St. Petersburg/Clearwater Airport I watched a funnel cloud completely circle the airport where the land meets the bay. Didn't do any damage but was a scary few moments.

Default Funnel Fizzle

LOL, yeah, hubby said the funnel fizzled quite quickly, but he saw it form over Bonita course. I was busy clicking away with my camera in the opposite direction and got a pink night sky instead.

Good grief! We were in our new house on Graves Place in April when we heard that our neighborhood in Wisconsin was hit by a tornado. NOW we hear about a funnel cloud in our Buttonwood neighborhood while we're in our house in Wisconsin. Hope it didn't touch down.

Sandra. You are more that a picture taker. YOU are an artist with a camera.

Not sure if that's the same cloud. I turned on my computer last early evening and there was an article and a picture telling about a funnel cloud seen in the Lady Lake-Leesburg area.
That particular cloud was short lived, also. Guess weather conditions are just right for that sort of formation. Luckily, it did not touch down. Sort of takes you by surprise, doesn't it!

We had a good view of it from Tamarind Grove. It grew fatter, but pretty much stayed in the same spot, then went into a backwards "J" formation (lateral) before disappearing from view behind grey fog.

Been through a few tornados as a kid (they used to come through the south side of Chicago back then) but never saw a funnel cloud just frozen in the sky like that. I thought that was unusual... and was going to ask if you had ever seen this here before!
