I have a BlueRay disk player in Florida. I bought a few BlueRay movies. I tried to play one of them in NY on my regular DVD drive on my computer and it does not play. Is it possible that Blue Ray and regular DVD are not compatible?

Pretty sure a blu ray movie will only play on a blu ray compatible player. A non blu ray movie will play on a blu ray player, I.e. blu ray players are backward compatible but not the other way around.

That explains it. Guess I have to wait until I get to Florida to watch them. PS: Is it worth getting Blue Ray movies? Is the picture that much clearer?

Yes Villages07... Lary B just called me on phone to confirm that BlueRay does not work on regular DVD drives.
