THE LAW IS THE LAW!
I really love this one. This is one of the better e-mails I have received in a long time! I hope this makes its way around the USA several times over!!!!! So, Be It! THE LAW IS THE LAW So "if" the US government determines that it is against the law for the words "under God" to be on our money, then, so be it. And "if" that same government decides that the "Ten Commandments" are not to be used in or on a government installation, then, so be it. I say, "so be it," because I would like to be a law abiding US citizen. I say, "so be it," because I would like to think that smarter people than I are in positions to make good decisions. I would like to think that those people have the American public's best interests at heart. BUT, YOU KNOW WHAT ELSE I'D LIKE? Since we can't pray to God, can't Trust in God and cannot post His Commandments in Government buildings, I don't believe the Government (Federal, State and Local) and its employees should participate in the Easter and Christmas celebrations which honor the God that our government is eliminating from many facets of American life. I'd like my mail delivered on Christmas, Good Friday, Thanksgiving & Easter. After all, it's just another day. I'd like the" US Supreme Court to be in session on Christmas, Good Friday, Thanksgiving & Easter as well as Sundays." After all, it's just another day. I'd like the Senate and the House of Representatives to not have to worry about getting home for the "Christmas Break." After all it's just another day. I'm thinking that a lot of my taxpayer dollars could be saved, if all government offices & services would work on Christmas, Good Friday & Easter. It shouldn't cost any overtime since those would be just like any other day of the week to a government that is trying to be "politically correct." In fact.... I think that our government should work on Sundays (initially set aside for worshipping God....) because, after all, our government says that it should be just another day.... What do you all think???? If this idea gets to enough people, maybe our elected officials will stop giving in to the "minority opinions" and begin, once again, to represent the "majority" of ALL of the American people. SO BE IT........... Please Dear Lord, Give us the help needed to keep you in our country! 'Amen' and 'Amen'! These are definitely things I never thought about but from now on, I will be sure to question those in government who support these changes. At the top, it says, "I hope this makes its way around the USA several times over!!!!!" Let's see that it does |

Amen. As you walk up the steps to the building which houses the U.S. Supreme Court you can
see near the top of the building a row of the world's law givers and each one is facing one in the middle who is facing forward with a full frontal view ... It is Moses and he is holding the Ten Commandments! DID YOU KNOW? As you enter the Supreme Court courtroom, the two huge oak doors have the Ten Commandments engraved on each lower portion of each door. DID YOU KNOW? As you sit inside the courtroom, you can see the wall, right above where the Supreme Court Judges sit, a display of the Ten Commandments! DID YOU KNOW? There are Bible verses etched in stone all over the Federal Buildings and Monuments in Washington ,D.C. DID YOU KNOW? James Madison, the fourth president, known as 'The Father of Our Constitution' made the Following statement: 'We have staked the whole of all our political Institutions upon the capacity of mankind for Self-government, upon the capacity of each and all of us to govern ourselves, to control ourselves, to sustain ourselves according to The Ten Commandments of God.' DID YOU KNOW? Every session of Congress begins with a prayer by a paid preacher, whose salary has been paid by the taxpayer since 1777. DID YOU KNOW? Fifty-two of the 55 founders of the Constitution were members of the established Orthodox churches in the colonies.. DID YOU KNOW? ThomasJefferson worried that the Courts would overstep their authority and instead of Interpreting the law would begin making law an oligarchy the rule of few over many. How then, have we gotten to the point that everything we have done for 220 years in this Country is now suddenly wrong and Unconstitutional?Lets put it around the world and let the world see and remember what this great country was Built on The Holy Bible and belief in GOD! |

Nobody ever said you couldn't pray to God.
It's just that now you can't force or intimidate me or my kids to pray in school. Honestly, I DO wonder why some people's faith is so threadbare that they have to enforce it everywhere. I seem to rember scripture passages that discuss this very thing - about how your relationship with God is a *private* matter. |

Nice debating technique Figmo.
It's like when I complained that my adoptive mother literally stole money from me. Her response? "Your friend Richard's mother steals more!" Just because someone else is worse doesn't make the act any less wrong. |

Kind of amazes me that a civilian employee of the Air Force has time to write on this forum during the work day. This posting and the two others were sent around 3:30 pm.
When I worked for the Federal government, there were strict rules against goofing on the computers during work hours. What are your work hours? I might be mistaken about 3:30 being a work hour. |

Buggy: I get in anywhere between 5:30 and 6am. In general, I leave around 3:30. I also eat at my desk (that's when you might see me spending a few minutes online). I never have trouble getting a parking spot. In exchange for the extra hours I put in, I get every other Friday off - it's called a Compressed Work Schedule.
For the first time in a while (and I've been making a living at this for 35 years), I actually like a lot more about my work environment. I'm not under threat of having a contract terminated without warning. Even if job cuts come, I'll have a good amount of warning. I get good reviews and I feel appreciated which makes it a lot easier to write and maintain the many thousands of lines of code I've written on this system. Having a good time-off policy makes it even more worth it. The fact that I don't stand on ceremony when someone has a question that might be out of my specific job description's area means I have good relations with just about everyone around me. A *much* nicer work enviroment, indeed. As I've joked with others, with all the vacation, sick and holiday time I now accrue, I feel VERY fortunate - but it puts me about on par with a secretary in Germany (although I make more than he or she would). |

DPlong,
Yes, those compressed days are great. I used to work a 9 hour day and got an extra day off every other week. That was the 5-4-9 schedule. We had quite a few working a 10 hour day and getting one day off each week. That was the 4-4-10 schedule. Washington DC used to be a real mess before the compressed work schedules came in to practice. Every agency used to get off at 4:30 and all the streets were all clogged up completely with going home traffic. Now, with the compressed schedules, the departures are staggered between 3:30 and 6 pm and it is a lot easier getting around after work. I find it humorous to hear the Villages residents talk about heavy traffic during Snowbird season and it is a pure joy for me to drive around here compared to Washington DC traffic. |
