We bought at Misison Hills Haciendas but we are still in Seattle. We were talking tonight about our rides over the bridge when we were there in November and wondered if you (TV residents) feel it is safe as it is, paticularly with all the new people at Mission Hills; or do you think there should be some kind of division between the bridge and the passenger side golf cart lane that goes parallel to the bridge traffic? Made me a little nervous being so close tothe traffic over the bridge, but I value your experience and opinons on if there should be something between the carts and the bridge traffc. What is the impact on the bridge with the new Hacienda villas? Thanks/

I think the cart traffic on the bridge will continue to be o.k. It is a squeaky fit but most people are smart enough to be very careful passing by each other...which is really the issue not the cars....yet, at least.

It is the traffic circle near Morse and the outpouring of cars from Mission Hills that will be a big problem in my mind, with cars backing up into the circle and causing a huge back log, when every one moves in there and particularly at high season.

the path for carts over the Morse Ave. bridge is tight. If you go very slow as per 10 MPH speed limit it is not too bad. I think they should pour concrete to level cart path with sidewalk, then there would be a wider area for carts as well as walkers and bikes. Also some type of higher barrier on the curb by the road would help to block car headlights when using the cart path at night.

I agree about the bridge....if you slow down to 10 mph, it's much easier to control where your cart is than if you're flying over the bridge at 20 mph.

Gracie, I join you in your concern about the Mission Hills back ups that may occur in the roundabout. Initially, I assumed (shame on me for assuming) there would be THREE entrances and one exit-only to Mission Hills. There is an additional turn lane when you are coming from the east on 466 (east of Morse)...however, there is no entrance to MH there like I assumed there would be. Is this just for U-turns??? They may have dropped the ball on this one. What do you think?

I think it's going to be a nightmare. How did they get permits to build so many homes in such a small area? Silly question. Read somewhere on another thread that area was originally supposed to be commercial which, if true, would have created it's own traffic problems.

I could be wrong but in looking at the plot layout from the County records it appears to show an entrance/exit on 466 and an exit further east onto 466 from Mission Hills.

It just made me nervous, paticulary at night, when heading from LSL to the Haciendas and being the passenger in the golf cart, so close to the traffic zooming by and in the opposite direction. I guess I have fear that whoever is driving the car will swerve and hit the person traveling in their golf cart; or that someone traveling in their golf cart will veer onto the road and be hit by a car. It just felt too close for comfort up on the bridge, but I suppose I will have to get used to it. It made my heart palpitate!!!

There are two exits and one entrance from 466. On both exits you have to turn right. Not very handy if you are heading up to all the shopping on 466.

I think many of the golf cart lanes on bridges are very narrow. That bridge needed a much wider area for golf carts. I wonder if the FDOT designed it?

I think you have a valid fear. All that drinking and then cars driving home? Oy!

Yes Exactly. Not just the car drivers but the golf cart drivers too! Those lights flashing in your eyes from the cars on the bridge could cause someone to cross lanes or....And now the traffic will be so much greater from all us new Hacienda people. Four minutes to LSL from our villa with no traffic but I am going to drive way slow at night....

Gotta take it slow but I still have a fear of a car jumping that little divider and smashing a cart! There would be no place to hide!

Well I guess if it bothers you that much you could drive west on the multi use path along CR 466 to Buena Vista. Or you could stay home at night.
