Default Are You Indoctrinated?

Santorum said Obama’s focus on higher education constitutes “indoctrination” into the president’s way of thinking.

“President Obama once said he wants everybody in America to go to college. What a snob,” said Crazy Boy Santorum. “There are good, decent men and women who go out and work hard every day and put their skills to test that aren’t taught by some liberal college professor to try to indoctrinate them. Oh, I understand why he wants you to go to college. He wants to remake you in his image.”

Yes, it is definitely true that lots of wonderful Americans have never gone to college - but to say that liberal college professors indoctrinate them to Obama's way of thinking is just plain stupid.

How many of the the Republican candidates did not go to college? Well, Santorum is still the dream candidate for Democrats to hope gets the nomination. Crazy Boy Santorum is even crazier than Rick Perry - and that has to be really on the lunatic fringe.

Default There Must Be A Reason

There must be a reason why Santorum lost by a 20-point landslide against him in his 2006 attempt to be re-elected to the Senate. Maybe the voters in Pennsylvania were able to make a more informed voting decision as the result of a closer look at the candidate, something that stump speeches and soundbite interviews don't permit.

LMAO! Did Santorum really say this stuff? Good for him! He just went up a notch in my mind! I have three kids who went to liberal colleges, the most recent graduating in 2009, who all will tell you the exact same thing. They are very grateful to have had some conservative friends who didn't go to college...they claim these friends kept them "grounded" in reality! Still LMAO!

He is right. We can not be a nation of leaders and no workers. Not everyone has to go to college to be a good citizen. Everyone does need a good high school education, know how to read and write, but advanced degrees for everyone, nay.

...and you wonder why employers are complaining about a lack of qualified candidates for open jobs?

Its because most of them CAN NOT read or write or understand simple instructions and largely because they don't want to WORK.

The more Santorum talks the more I hope he is the nominee. It would result in an all-time, historical landslide for Obama.

Dale, you sure have that right. Can you imagine a Dumpublican ticket of Santorum and Christine O'Donnell? Now, that would be a real good idea for a skit on SNL.

I am sure Ladydoc would agree with you on that one, huh?

There's an old saying, that if everyone goes to college "Who's going to wrap the fish?"

Seriously though, a college degree is not for everyone and not every college degree is followed by an applicable job. Those who do have job related degrees, work; those who don't have job related degrees, become teachers. Oh, I said "seriously"...........well it's the truth.

Technical training is sometimes far more valuable than a college degree.

You bet that technical training is just as important as college degrees. The mechanic who fixes your Lexus makes more money than most Lexus owners. Find a plumber who charges less than $80 per hour and you will be looking a long time. Truck drivers can make over $100,000 per year easily. I even read in the newspaper that the guitarist for Aerosmith has a college degree in astrophysics but went where the money is.

Default another consequence

another consequence of this drive for everyone to go to college is the resultant dumbing down of our universities...not everyone is college material, and i do not mean that as a measure of intelligence...many very intelligent people just prefer to work with their hands, do construction, art, whatever, which should not require a college degree...people used to have the skills necessary to do a good job just by graduating high school, but unfortunately that is no longer the case in many alumni...so when these students have to get into college, of course the college lowers its standards and everyone suffers in the long run....we need more technical training, maybe even to start in high school, as they do in europe...and we need to make our universities really mean something again!

Not "just plain" stupid...Santorum's statement is OUTRAGEOUSLY stupid...EMBARRASSINGLY stupid...stupid to a level that calls into question how anyone could actually think this guy could occupy the most powerful political position in the world.

On really???, that's what YOU think?? Well I guess that's the end of that discussion. (He would be better than the current embarrassment-in-chief by a long shot)

Are you on the Santorum bandwagon now, Richie? How many candidates that have come and gone in just the last few months have you backed as "the next best thing"? Sooner or later you'll have a candidate. There's gotta be someone who's name is on the ballot in November. And then, that guy will be un questionably better than the current POTUS. If it's Santorum, maybe Joe the Plumber will be dragged out to campaign. Then again, maybe not. His schedule may be full campaigning for his own election to the House from Ohio's 9th district. Maybe they'll find Charlie the Coalminer to put down that Harvard-educated snob.
