Default We are finally here

My in-laws came to the Villages years ago, and we wondered why? We left Florida for North Alabama eight years ago (close to family) and moved into the village of Rio Grande a few months ago. It feels like we are coming home.
I attended Auburn University and worked in aerospace most of my career. I still teach classes in industry from time to time.
My wife grew up in western PA, but considers Florida home.
We are now searching for dentist, eye doctors, etc. while painting the house and trying to clear out the garage enough to get the car inside.
Any advice for a newcomer would be appreciated.

Default welcome (back)

I have no advice since I will not be a resident until May, but I do extend a warm welcome!

Welcome home!

Eyes at The Villages or Ocala Eye have good eye doctors. For M.D., I use Sylvia Wallace, a nurse practicioner at Dr. Burriss office. She is very good. They are on 466 on the north side of the road, just after Rolling Acres road, before you come into Lady Lake.

Congratulations and Welcome!
It was very helpful for me to keep a small notebook, jotting down my questions, things I wanted to check out, wish list, etc. Kept me from being overwhelmed and running around with one foot nailed to the floor!
I took it everywhere, along with a handy pen.... and then could review things at my leisure.

Also very helpful to have my camera along when we ventured out... then if I saw something cool (for future inspiration or consideration) I could snap a photo and download it to my computer for later.

The forum here has a wealth of information/ opinions on just about every topic of interest and type of service available in The Villages. Use the search button at the top of this page, or if needed, ask in a new post... we all try our best to help one another with things like this on the forum!
