When I have rented in The Villages I have been instructed not to include the box# in the address as it will confuse the folks at the Lady Lake facility. As long as you have the key to the owners postal box in the mail center you should be OK with the address.

billaur, I'd think it would be best to check with the homeowner. They might have all their mail, regardless of name, for that address forwarded elsewhere. If you had any mail sent to you at the address, the post office would forward it elsewhere.

There's certainly a work-around of some sort - again, it would be best to contact the homeowner to see what type of mutual conclusion can be reached.

I haved owned a rental home in the Villages for 7 years. I just give the names of the renters to the postal worker at the mail box. Cindy (our mail carrier) just puts a note on the mailbox and the renters get all their mail. Never had a problem. If the owner doesnt do it for you, you can stop at the mailbox when the mail is being delivered and just give your name to the postal worker. They are happy to be notified of the correct names.

We have been renting in TV for the past five years and have experienced no problems with our mail forwarding. After having the home owner's permission to use the mailbox, we visit the mail kiosk upon arriving at TV and introduce ourselves to the postal employees at the kiosk. We inform them that we will be having our mail forwarded to the address we are renting; when the mail will be stopping; and we usually leave them a phone number to contact us if there is a question with the mail. We make sure the mail fowarding stops two weeks before we leave TV to allow all mail to arrive before we depart. Upon leaving we always put a letter into the box informing the postal employees that we are leaving and please forward any stray mail to our permanent home address; we thank them for their service. As I said, all has gone well for the past five years.
