Are there any retired reconstruction urologist's hanging out here in TV. I need someone to bounce a few things of. I have some choices to make and I need someone to listen and try to explain to me in english what is going on and if I do have a chance to be Tommy again.

Don't like the sound of this so I will pray and other stuff.

You might try calling Shands in Gainesville, they are the biggest teaching facility closeby attached to the University of Florida Medical School..

Many hugs.

It is always darkest before the dawn.

I have been at Shands and I am told the damage done to the radiation from my prostate cancer 9 years ago is beyond repair. I will head to NY to see if anyone up there can do the impossible. I am not ready to be a couch potato yet. Thanks for everyone's concern but I didn't post this message to have everyone feel sorry for Poor Tommy. I was hoping a retired surgeon can give me recommendations and suggestions.

Go to the best place that you can find. Not feeling sorry...just caring about you...I know I speak for a crowd of us.

Hugs.

OK...so not feeling sorry for you yet, since you don't have all the answers. But one answer is you will always be TOMMY and they can't take that away from you. Having just met you, we know you will try your best but whatever the outcome, just remember, your feet still hit the floor every morning! Good luck and let us know if we can help.

Not feeling sorry for you, you're obviously a feisty guy. I'm sending you a PM.

keep the courage to know life is measured in ways other than what one may have lost or had taken away. I always try to remind myself a saying I heard in a lecture in school one time:

"I cried when I had no shoes until I saw a man who had no feet"

Good luck in what you seek.

If you are going to NY, there is an incredible surgeon at Memorial Sloan Kettering who only does urology reconstruction. He is a magician, truly.

I thought of Sloan by my problem is not cancer. It is the damage the radiation did nine years ago when I did have the "Big C". I did find one reconstruction surgeon in NYU that is on my list. Does the guys you spoke about do none cancerous surgery??
