Now a soon-to-be published biography by David Maraniss entitled “Barack Obama: The Story” gives more detail on Obama’s pot-smoking days, complete with testimonials from young Barry Obama’s high school buddies, a group that went by the name “the Choom Gang.” Choom was slang for smoking marijuana.
Maraniss portrays the teenage Obama as not just a pot smoker, but a pot-smoking innovator.
“As a member of the Choom Gang,” Maraniss writes, “Barry Obama was known for starting a few pot-smoking trends.”

"Maraniss concludes his chapter on Obama’s high school years by looking at a note Obama had written in his high school yearbook in a section reserved for students to give a line or two giving thanks to those who helped along the way.
Obama had written this: “Thanks Tut [his grandmother], Gramps, Choom Gang, and Ray for all the good times.”
Maraniss notes: “Ray was the older guy who hung around the Choom Gang, selling them pot. A hippie drug dealer made his acknowledgements; his mother did not.”

So Bush had a problem alcohol, which is legal for adults to consume, and got help and is clean and sober for many, many years. Wow!; what a scandal.

Then we have rumors of a flirtation with cocaine, but no real evidence of it. Sounds like a slam dunk to me.

Mentioning Bush doesn't really help "The One" out here. I notice you never mention Bush when Obama rides his coattails, but that's typical.

Obama meanwhile brags about his joyful relationship with the illegal substance marijuana. I think that's a bit different. I don't really care, but it is what it is.

No, it is not a scandal that George W. is an alcoholic. That is a chronic disease. Flirtations with cocaine? George W. admitted he used coke (not experimented with it but used it) - still no scandal since that was well before he was elected to being president. Clean and sober and a decent man.

Marijuana and Obama - big deal is all I can say. Whatever happened was well before being elected to President. RichieLion doesn't care, I don't care, why care?
