Making sure that everyone that's eligible to vote gets to vote is the patriotic thing to do. I'm sure the Republican black caucus will also be organizing get out the vote efforts. Demographics are what the US Census correctly reports.

HOWEVER if they speak to religious groups and tell them how to handle this from the pulpit is all wrong or am I misunderstanding all the posts from the primary ???????

In the Republican primaries, didn't many of the Southern churches preach how their congregations should vote? The answer is YES. Don't you think that Mitt will get almost all the Mormon vote? The answer is YES. This was not just done on a separate church by church preaching but the Republican machine went to all the ministers and told them what to say.

If my minister ever mentioned how to vote in his sermon - or in any event at church, personally, I would go somewhere else right away for church.

Any religious person who in the church tries to tell me who to vote for should be jailed. It is against the law. Republican, democrat I don't care. People go to church not to hear some priest bad mouth a candidate or tell them who to vote for. Better yet take away their tax exempt status and see how fast they shut up. To me they are just another group I'm paying for.

Not saying this is you on this item, but I do not like folks simply making things up. That is child like. If you can back up an accusation and that is what it was, fine......but you just cannot come on here and make accusations with no backup. I was under the impression that this is the way this forum works...if it changed I was not aware !!!

The preachers are not being instructed to tell people who to vote for, but how to vote - what forms of photo ID they need and where to get them. I'm sure the Republican Black Caucus is having similar discussions.

I am embarassed I did not know this, but there is no PARTY AFFLIATED black caucus only the black caucus......for all of congress. I was checking on any Republican affliated group of that nature.
