Default Pork roll

What a shame. Love pork roll. Now if I could only get Publix to sell scrabble unfrozen. They only sell it completely frozen. When you thaw it and try to slice, it crumbles all over the place. Oh well, at least I get the taste of it, even if it doesn't look very good.

Well, the Taylor pork roll company is still in business. They don't sell Case pork rolls in Publix. I also like scrapple but it does break up when trying to eat it.

BTW, we turned Gracie on to pork roll.

Would have been standing in line with Kneips seeded hard rolls, thin sliced raw onion, cheese and ketchup just waiting for the first batch hot off the coals

You guys just made me hungry. I loved it. Someone tell the unitiated just how to fix a New Jersey Pork roll sandwich.

Even an Ohio girl can learn about New Jersey stuff.

But.

We Ohio girls pump our own gas.

Default Pork roll & Scrapple

It's scrapple not scrabble.

Semi-thaw the scrapple you get at Publix's. Slice at a medium thickness.
Dust in a plate of flour. Place in hot frying pan with a light coating of oil. Allow to crisp on one side before flipping. It will stay together. Enjoy!

Sounds yummy, and sounds a lot like our version in Cincinnati...but it just can't be as good as Goetta.
