Default House Hunters In TV??

Does anyone know if the HGTV series House Hunters has ever done an episode from TV? They frequently have Florida themed shows.

My wife asked if I'd ever seen one and we decided that we hadn't, so thought I'd ask the TOTV community. Thanks.

Don't know the answer, but I would guess it is no. We watch the show regularly, and they usually like more diversity than you see in TV. The homes in The Villages are nice, and well planned, but they are relatively similar, where the show usually shows choices of three very different home choices for the hunters. Just my opinion.

You're probably correct, we hadn't considered the diversity of homes situation. Plus, it might be hard to show new construction homes without some kind of authorization from the developer.

It is my understanding the you must already OWN the home you select on the show. You also need to find the 2 other homes that will be shown. Often they are homes of friends/relatives or ones that were considered to be purchased. Usually the homes with no furniture are the ones "selected" on the show. They are empty because the "house hunters" have not moved in yet.

A friend of my niece was on the show and they had to have complete ownership of the home before an agreement was made to film.

I, too, enjoy watching the show. It looks like the producers are getting smarter and, in some cases, only filming empty homes. It sure makes it harder to determine which house is selected.

I agree that home diversity would be difficult in The Villages.

I love that show! I was watching one day and recognized a lady and her husband that were looking for a house. It was Kathy from the Karacter band that play at the square. I had the occasion to ask her if it was her and sure enough it was. She said it was a fun experience.

I love the international episodes. What always amuses me is that all the buyers seem to comment on how much room they'll have for entertaining, wonder how much mega entertaining they'll actually be doing? It's fun to watch, staged or not. I think they could do one here using a 3/2 villa overlooking golf course, a designer near the square, and maybe a ranch/cottage near a Rec Center.
