Default Political Signs in Front Yard

Does The Villages ban on any signs being displayed in yards, prohibit me from expressing my First Amendment rights of free speech?

Is a sign actually speech? You can get in your yard and talk till you are blue in the face. Does a vote for sign actually get people to change their vote?

If I have this right, you are not to post signs in the yard, but seems you can put them in the windows. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.
Think this was part of the CC&R's you signed to agree to.

Romney signs are permitted. It's common knowledge that he is best friends with the Developer.

I don't think it would be safe to put an Obama sign up in The Villages.
Also, who my neighbor votes for will not influance my vote anyway.

Not safe??

Your neighbors might quietly wonder about your sanity, but I think you'd be "safe" enough.

Even though The Villages is thought to be a Republican stronghold, judging from the Political Forum, there are lots of committed Obama supporters living in TV! But your sign might be pulled by Community Watch unless you're in Historical.

I think that lawn signs are like the bumper stickers we used to love, well, at least I did. They may not convince anyone to change their mind, but if you see enough of them, you may start thinking in new ways.

Not sure if we can actually post in front yard so I put Romney in my windows and also both sides of my car and leave my car in driveway for all to see!! He may not be my ideal candidate but I'd rather him in Whitehouse then a Marxist.

Read the documents you signed when you bought here in The Villages. You cannot post political signs in your yard. Put them in your window or on your cars/golf cart and there is no problem.

Posting an Obama sign in the villages would bring the same action with posting a David Duke sign in a black neighborhood. Not a good thing, just a fact.

Really?; Do you think you'd have a huge crowd of people in front of your house screaming for your head if you posted an Obama sign?

That's what would happen in your example.

Get real. It's only you liberals who call for violence and murder in those situations.

You don't believe me?

Ask Brad Pitt's mom.

Brad Pitt's mother lives in The Villages? I bet she lives somewhere in those premiere homes in Bonita. Someone has to tell her that political signs are NOT allowed in your front yard here in The Villages.

I thought my post would possibly spur an easy Google search to see what I was talking about, but I guess I was wrong.

Brad Pitt's mom wrote a letter to a small news paper criticizing Obama for his stance on abortion and same sex marriage.

Of course by liberal standards she is now a pariah and should be put to death as beyond numerous letters, emails, tweets and comments on media and social network sites have indicated and outright called for.

"Liberal" minded people are the least tolerant people there are to opposing opinions.
