Default Help me program 2nd remote

I have the normal Allstar MVP remote. It just stopped working today. The 1st one for the car still works as normal, so I'd rather not re-set the codes.,
It only the 2nd remote that fails to work. I checked the batteries, they are working fine.
I looked at a couple versions of the manual online http://www.garagedooropeners.us/PDF_...MVP_Series.pdf but I don't see the part about discovering the nine digit code. Is the code programmed in the circuit board? or are there some dip switches I can look at?
I read that i can make the wall unit inside "learn" the code from the remote, but I want to do it the opposite way, and have the 2nd remote learn the existing code without changing it.

I may have found the answer, {when in doubt re-read the manual}
Your opener will “learn” up to eight code transmissions
from preprogrammed transmitters.
we'll just see about that

I had such hopes, and they were quickly dashed

Adding Transmitters
If additional transmitters are desired just match the code in the new transmitter to the code in the existing transmitter. If you forget the existing code just recode new and
existing products to a new code and erase and reprogram your door operator. Any number of transmitters may be used to operate your door operator as long as one button of each transmitter is programmed with the same code learned by the door
operator.

So I'm back to square One, only a single transmitter has the code.

That doesn't help....
Step 3. Enter your 9 digit code

I don't have any code
How do I get the transmitter/remote to pick up the code that the other one already has?

The 9 digit code is located at the bottom of one of the pages of the manual that came with the opener(s).

I don't have the original manual, only online versions. Is there no way to discover the secret code of the remote?
