Why does it have to stop. Give up a little freedom for a little security. Pretty soon you will have neither. Don't sound like a very good deal to me.

so you're saying that an organization where everyone knows their place and their job - and does it ; and where it takes care of widows and orphans; and where it does NOT lose money is a bad thing?

trying to mock the writer of this thread will not detract from its truthfulness.

I watched Dale on King of the Hill and he reminded me of some on this board. I just spent 6000 miles touring around this great country and it is still the best country I have been to. Y'all need to look at the 90 percent and leave the 10 % to the paranoid folks. MOST Americans are better and smarter today than yesterday.

God Bless America just the way she is.

The precusor to the Mafia was a group of men intent to stop the French invaders. Eventually power corrupted and the rest of that story has been well chronicled.

Likewise unions organized to ensure working people would have better working conitions and decent compensation and benefits. Unfortunately over the years union and especially public unions made unreasonable demands based not on fair exchanges but rather because union organization had to justify their existence, pretty much like politicians. Politicians being weak caved in to the demands of public unions in exchange for votes without regard as to the negative effect it would have and now has on state budgets. The demand in compensation and benfit increases were not accompanied with increased in production and quality. In fact I would argue it resulted in complacency, to wit the loss of our competitive edge in the auto industry.

I grew up around union men and was forced in my earlier years of working (closed state) to join both the teamsters and steelworkers unions while I attended college nights. to say the least I was disgusted to see so many men "feathering their nests" that when I did run across a hard working guy I congratulated him.

If there is any light at the end of this dark tunnel its that many young Americans now facing financial hardship will come to understand the evils of government dependence and the desire for financial independence.

What is of great concern to me is the flippant nature of so many Americans concerning the damage being done to this nation by politicians who are more interested in being popular than effective. Of course I place Obama at the top of this list. Apparently for some their egos are so fragile that the need to be right supersedes right

I agree with one of the posts above but when 10% want to destroy the 90% I take great offense and that my friends is what is happening. In the last ten years 86000 Canadians have moved into Florida alone to escape the 47% taxes up there. What is that telling you. Laugh it off we won't be alive when this all goes to h--l anyway why care

I am not willing to bet on that. I think that most of us will be alive, anyway for a while, when this happens. There will be no place for us to run to, we will be stuck and have to stick it out right here.

I sure don't care......cuz I don't believe we are heading for ruin at all as the right wing naysayers think simply because they are out of power and not having things go the way they want....thank God.

OK you dont think we are headed for ruin. obama can now have total control over wired and wireless civil communication that means we dont have to have a war or national threat. So we have a civil uprising ( which will happen)so all and I say all communication is cut off so you cant work together against the enemy this happened in Germany as good as their communication system was. Wake up this is the agenda of obama fool call me nuts I dont care. Its your future. And remember this I dont see an election happening this year if we do it will be the last if obama gets in. Have fun you left wingy dingers. Remember the song (I see a bad moon rising)
