I think it would be wise for certain posters to 1) not drink vodka martinis with their Prozac; 2) forget their conspiracy theories; and 3) realize that whatever they post on a public forum is NOT private information but certainly can be traced and used as evidence against them by (whomever monitors) a public political forum.

"Many people believe that when they write something on a website, blog, or message board, that they are truly “anonymous” and have a free pass to say anything they want. This feeling of anonymity sometimes leads people to post false statements in an effort to discredit another individual or harm their reputation. People who post false statements about someone else on a website or blog are often surprised when they learn they have been sued for defamation. " Chicago, IL Defamation, Libel and Slander Lawyers | Saper Law Offices When you decide to call anyone a name (public or private) or make false charges (even in an effort to draw attention or be sarcastic) my suggestion is that you take pause. There are a number of other websites that confirm this. Many think they are safe in making fun of political figures..you are not. This applies to making false charges or especially in the case of copyright infingement using a quote without proper credit being given. Many websites are suing because of folks copy and pasting their product and taking it out of context...or using their material without the proper credit being given. |
