I heard that if you don't run your A/C all the time you could get mold in your house. Is this true? We have had our air conditioning turned off since the weather has cooled off.

We only open the windows up when the dewpoint is down. Be interested to hear the answers to this though.

My AC guy told me it's OK to turn off everything and open windows and doors in the morning when it's cool, and he suggested turn on the fan to circulate the fresh air.

We run our air conditioning if it gets 80 outside. If we have the windows open and it's above 80, the air is too moist for our laminate floors and they start to feel sticky.

That is definetly the key here - humidity. If the temps are comfortable, humidity is low, and a nice breeze all is well and you can turn it off without a problem.

We live in the Historic side and had the same problem. We installed a dehumidifyer we got from Lowes. Left the heat on at about 55 so that if there is a really hard freeze it will warm up to keep from freezing. We left the dehumidifyer on to run for 2 hours on and 2 hours off. It will need to be connected to a drain so you will not have to drain the reservor, because you may not be there. For example you could set it in a shower or bath tub. It is very inexpensive to operate
