Default SEEKING GOOD BAKERY for CAKES

Does anyone know of a good Bakery or Baker in The Villages, FL or nearby - to purchase nice CAKES, like the Bakeries you find in the big cities. Looking for good quality CAKE, not the type from Publix etc. To have decorated for Birthday??

No bakeries that I know of. They can't compete with Publix. I have never been disappointed in a Publix cake.

The Southern Cotillion in Wildwood has outstanding cakes. They sell slices so you can try them yourself.

Publix cakes are not fresh. They come in frozen in large cartons and are thawed out as needed. Bloom's Bakery in Leesburg is a good place for cakes.

Catillion cakes are amazing!

Also, if you want to take a 15 min drive...there is agreat German bakery in Yalaha - Yalaha Bakery. Google it to get directions.

Enjoy

We love Publix cakes. Some of our favorites are the carrot cake, the red velvet cake and the Italian creme cake but the chocolate with chocolate icing is excellent too. I am pretty sure they don't freeze them and defrost them at our Publlx on 466. I don't do anything else well but I am a fair judge of a good cake.

Sams Club has good cakes too and wonderful prices for BIG ones.

Their cookies are dee-lish-a-mus too!

I've had good luck with a large crowd ordering from Sam's Club. The price is way cheaper than Publix and I've had nothing but rave reviews when I show up with one.

I've bought cakes at Toojays. I think they customize.

My neighbor is a professional baker. She actually made cakes for President Reagan and Nancy Reagan back in the 80's. Her name is Mary and her number is 430-4454.
