Default As told by RE agent

Thought I'd make everyone chuckle this morning. Sad but true lol in this PC world. My friend , who is a RE agent, was just told they are NO longer allowed to call a Master Bedroom A Master Bedroom. We must now refer to it as the "owners suite" We don't want to offend anyone. I just can't stop laughing. It can't get any hilarious can it??

Another example of political correctness going a bit too far. IMHO

In days of old when knights were bold, it used to be called the Mistress suite. As the wife and husband slept in separate bedrooms and the "master" used his bedroom for his mistresses. But at some point in history that became offensive so the name was changed to the master suite. Now we do it again for different reasons.

Hmmm......I wonder if I now need to change my inspection reports.....I currently use the terms "Master Bedroom" and "Master Bath". I do understand that in this day and age using terms like "his and her" closets is being very presumptuous and should perhaps be avoided.

The bonus room may no longer be suggested as a perfect room for a "Man Cave".....it shall now be known as a "Person Cave".

All kidding aside, I do not want to ever offend anyone, and while I may have my own personal views, I understand a person's lifestyle is not my business.
I would think though that any person regardless of their choices would understand that the above terms are just universally used and not meant to be offensive. There is such a thing as being "overly P.C.".

Respectfully, Frank

Geez! I always thought the term master bedroom simply designated the primary or largest of a home's bedrooms.

The term "master bedroom" simply designates the (usually) largest bedroom is the master of all the other bedrooms. QED

Remember, this may just be at that one real estate office. Owner's suite sounds more opulent than master bedroom.

I have always been under the impression that a suite had to include more than one room. I have seen plenty of master bedrooms (main or largest bedroom) that do not have a bathroom attached to it. Those would not be the "owner's suite", would they?

How many of us grew up in homes where there was one bathroom for the 2 or three bedrooms in the house? I know I did.

Default Hungry Man dinners

How about the young lady who attempted to sue Swanson Foods in an attempt to alter the name of the tv dinner from "Hungry MAN Dinner" to "Hungry PERSON Dinner".
