Looking for contractor recommendations for relocating a dining room light and patching / finishing off the old location.
Thanks for your help. |

Try PMing Jimbo. He talked about doing that at one point.

I think when I was at Jimbo's he had swagged his light. I'm looking to move the box and light.
Jimbo is in his Airstream trailer somewhere in Maine right now. |

Use a skyhook and 3 feet of flightline.

There are track lighting systems that allow placement of the connection to the junction box in the ceiling wherever you want it and not necessarily centered, which would eliminate your need to close up one junction box, finish the ceiling, and install a new box which must be done through the attic (not the simplest undertaking). Hope this helps. Good luck. |

I had Galaxy move mine to center over the table, cost around ~$100, then they also have a person come out and patch, can't even tell where the light was originally.

How about a solar tube to replace the light! Just a suggestion!

You will need a certified electrician and a drywall person. Hard to find someone qualified to do both.

Galaxy is a certified electrical company, they were the contractors when my house was built in 2012, they then contracted a drywall person to come in and patch, so it was 1 stop shopping. They do this a lot after new builds when people want the light fixtures moved. They also moved an outlet and patched the old spot, you would never know anything was moved.
