Our phones went off with the warning. I looked at the radar and to my completely uneducated eye, it does not look too menacing for TV. I hope I read it right and folks can get back to their normally scheduled fun....

Easy to say of course when I am not in the line of fire....

Be safe!

For those not in TV, it was definitely "no storm."

I was coming up from Tampa on I75 and it was pretty bad. Very tough driving with all those semi's next to you. Had to put on my hazards for awhile because visibility was very low. Just typical of what we had all summer.

We were lucky here, didn't have much of a storm. My friend who lives in Lakeland had branches all over her yard as a result of winds and rain.

A van was struck by lightning late this afternoon in Mims...windshield broken, tires damaged and then the van burned. Luckily no one was hurt.

My weather radio went off and we received a weather warning call....better to be warned than not.

All that hoopla for nothing! Looks like the worst was the Southern part of Sumter County. We hardly had any rain.

We had a little bit of rain. I unplugged my weather radio months ago. It was going off for every little thing. It would go off if there was a thunderstorm "capable of possibly spawning tornadoes" within 100 miles of here. It was going off at least twice a week for nothing

The final straw was when it went off at 3:30 in the morning to tell me that the temperature was going below freezing.

Biggest waste of money since I moved here. Never should have listened to the hurricane alarmists.

We've had one tornado here in the past 60 years. Granted it was terrifying for those who were caught in it, but one in 60 years, I'll take my chances. We had more tornadoes in Massachusetts over that same period of time.

What counties do or did you have your radio set for Dr? Marion county does seem to get more "weather" than Sumter and more alerts.
What events did you have the radio set to for notification? There are many options and freeze warnings is one of them. A freeze here can cause more damage than where you lived previously and it is of some importance to those who would have damage done to certain plants. If it isn't, that's an alert that doesn't have to be activated.

I prefer to be notified.....straight line winds and lots of lightning can sure screw things up really quickly.
