Talking Attack of the mushrooms

Warning, warning, they're everywhere!!!!!!!!

What's with all the mushrooms growing on the lawns. Is it because of all the rain
or have we been invaded by beings from outer space.

Does the lawn services spray for them?

No need to spray, they will be gone in a few days. No need for warning unless you plan to eat them once.

A fairy ring, also known as fairy circle, elf circle, elf ring[1] or pixie ring, is a naturally occurring ring or arc of mushrooms. The rings may grow to over 10 metres (33 ft) in diameter, and they become stable over time as the fungus grows and seeks food underground. They are found mainly in forested areas, but also appear in grasslands or rangelands. Fairy rings are detectable by sporocarps in rings or arcs, as well as by a necrotic zone (dead grass), or a ring of dark green grass. A fungus, mycelium, is likely to be present in the ring or arc underneath.

I see some that look like golf balls, also.

My Dad was an expert when it came to harvesting mushrooms. he knew exactly where and when to go and knew a good from bad mushrooms.

We would have bushels of mushrooms at a time. so good with steaks, peppers, etc

Mushrooms growing on your lawn is a good sign. It means you're lucky. Take pictures of them and post it.

Some of them are deadly. You and dog both should refrain from eating them, unless you are an experienced mushroom picker.

Default Mushrooms

My first wife died of eating poison mushrooms.

My second wife died of eating poison mushrooms.

My third wife died of a concussion. She wouldn't eat the mushrooms.

Don't touch them with bare hands. They are toxic to you too.

So I have some mushrooms that keep popping up in my pot of rosemary and lemon thyme. I either pull them out (with a plastic bag around my hand to catch as many spores as possible) or they die out; however, my concern is whether or not the herbs are absorbing any toxins that might have been in the shrooms through their root system. Any thoughts??? The rosemary (prostrate) is really establishing itself and cascading nicely as I had hoped - the lemon thyme seems to be suffering (mushroom toxins)??? It would be easy enough to throw them out, but I actually brought both these herbs back with me from last visit to NC because I could not find them here.

Better call the Environmental Protection agency (EPA).

I guess that's why they have the agricultural inspection at the border.
