Wink Some are not courteous at town squares

It's not a big problem but it does happen sometimes. When it does happen, it might be wise to change your seat, if you can find another seat.

On Wednesday I went to see a great new band called "N-Tunes". After I was there a while, a group of women came and sat nearby. It seems they had been drinking and were really LOUD talkers. Then they would get up to dance and would sometimes stand in front of me while talking to their friends in a loud voice. On the dance floor they started loud conversations as if the band wasn't there. I think they overpowered the music at times.

One of them was trying to convince a man to follow her out to her car. He didn't seem too willing until she said, "I have a beer for you in the car."

Before the band starts playing there's an anouncement from WVLG that says, "No coolers allowed." People must have started bringing their own drinks in a cooler. So now it seems that some of them are drinking in their cars.

Here are some of the replies I expect to get: Hey, chill-out! What do you care if people are drinking in their cars. And if people are too loud for you, just take your chair and move it!

I just thought I would save you the trouble.

You won't hear that from me. Loud drunks, male or female, can be obnoxious. They really have no idea that they are causing others distress, spoiling their enjoyment . I have nothing against liquor, but am really uncomfortable around anyone who has no idea that they are rip snorting drunk.

When we run into these problems, I usually turn to my husband and say "thank goodness they don't live next door to me!" So you won't hear any comments from me to your post either.

In response to "One of them was trying to convince a man to follow her out to her car" men are weak and then you throw in an offer of beer, the poor guy didn't have a chance.

We're not fond of loud obnoxious folks either......sad that your evening was ruined. Thanks for posting that. It took courage.

Maybe THE VILLAGES is indeed getting too big......for comfort.
It must have been really nice when it was new and a smaller population.

We've been looking in a town with a population of 2,900 souls.....on a barrier island with the Atlantic Ocean beaches, a real fishing pier and very beautiful large homes , larger acreage.........not really second guessing ourselves, but weighing all the pros and cons before making the big move next spring or summer..........

Crowds and noise are not our cup of tea.....so thanks again for your post.

I don't think it's the size of The Villages that is the problem. You can find loud obnoxious people in any size crowd. The squares are open to the public so the noisy people could be from one of the surrounding towns. That being said, we've lived here a year and have yet to encounter a really loud person or group and we go to the squares often.

There are loud and obnoxious people all over the world in every corner. This now convinces me to buy my own chair and when I'm not happy, I'll move to a different area.

Um, something like that will cost in the millions, at least down in Palm Beach County. Where are you looking?

The OP was was an informative post. However, the first sentence is the most important. I believe the same is true for many of the topics (a.k.a. annoyances) we discuss on TOTV.

You can get a house on a barrier island on the Atlantic in Cape Canaveral by the pier for 200,000. Won't be large acreage. Of course right on the ocean would be over a million
